Looks like i'm heading to this game as well as my gf has been nagging me why i never go to the footy with her. Should be a very interesting battle of wits between the 2 coaches as they both employ pretty strong defensive zones. Adelaide should win though by 1-19 points

Adelaide by 67.
Now Croad is out I'm not overly confident (not that I was in the first place though!)
I think we will win it in a close one but won't be surprised at all if the crows end up smashing us

Trent Croad out
May see the return of one Zac Dawson tonight. A bigger unit than the scrawny fella fed to the wolves in 2006. I'd like to see Zac in, but Tom Murphy is a more likely replacement.
With no Burton, Croad is not the biggest loss. Croad too short for any one of Tippett, Maric or Griffin playing forward in any case.
This match will be won in the middle (aren't they all?) Adelaide have nearly a full complement and we are light two mids (Sewell and Crawford).
Neither team has a good form line right now, but the Crows should win a close game.

Going to be a great test tonight for the Hawks with a number of key players out again. Just how good are we....we are only as good as the best side we can put on the field at any one time.
Injuries are no excuse nor suspension. I'm hopeful that we have improved (not just the auto start 22 but the players from 23-28). If we win tonight it will be a great step towards believing we can be a finals threat. If we lose, we still have a way to go.
Bring it on! Let's prove that we are a good side!

If we play like we have the last 3-4 weeks then we'll lose by 40+ points.
If we play like we did in the first 8 rounds then we'll win comfortably.

The Loss of croady is a pain, but not the end of the world, as said before, adelaide have a rather small forward line, which may help the younger bodied hawks! im more worried about chance bateman...hope he plays, hes cut adelaide up the last two times.
im expecting big things from little rioli tonight! just think hes gonna have a good game!
i rekon Jarryd Roughead is the key tonight!..yep crazy...yep you have to get the ball out of the middle to get it to him...and yes there is a bloke called Franklin..but if Buddy can keep doing what he dose...and Roughy chip in with 4 or 5..that will go along way to getting the points..any thoughts?
Murphy in for Croad? I'm going off the AFL stats and he seems to be the inclusion?
Should be a ripping clash this one, just hoping the conditions aren't too slippery so both teams can showcase their immense talent.

Yep, Murphy was one of the emergencies. Not thrilled - Murphy has hardly set the world on fire this season and Zac deserves a crack;)

Hawks are going to have to be cleverer about how the ball moves in forward. Adelaide drop back very quickly and are sweating on Franklin.
Time for Williams and Boyle to produce.
Cracking game BTW.....
I dont think this amount of attention has ever been payed to one single player. He is playing on 4 blokes
Kudos to the crows, they are doing it well.
Adelaide should be miles in front by now, lol at Buddy's struggle thus far... although i loved it when he side stepped the player before :thumbsu:, too bad it was a point.
I've tipped Adelaide (not unusual i've tipped against the Hawks a few times this season), but if Hawthorn get up.... it would be good to see.
yeah the big fella should have 2 or 3 already and it's only quarter time, good signs we are well on top after that first 15 mins. Young and clarke soft efforts already no surprises there
We got out of jail in 1st quarter.

All to no avail, should have kicked it quicker...
I think we will win now. We have been pretty bad, hit our straps of sorts and held them for the second half of that quarter.
If we can get one decent quarter in it should be enough. I am not an optimist but i think I overrated Adelaide...

Disgusting decision on Tippett. Costs Adelaide 2 goals.
bluecrow
14 Jun 2008, 21:21
Terrible decision to call play on at the Tippett free kick. Open your eyes.
It's technically right.
The Ten commentators are wrong from my knowledge of the rules. "Advantage" can only be called when a player other than the one who has the free kick attempts to play on. Therefore if he interpreted Tippet tried to play on it's play on and no "no advantage" can be called to bring it back.
Maybe an umpire or someone with better knowledge than me can verify this?
That said it's common sense that Tippet wouldve taken the shot if he knew he had the free and the umpire should have realised this.
The Tippet decision was correct.
It was his free kick and he played on. If it spilt to another player it would have been advantage call and then it would have been called back.

He handballed it because he didn't even know he had the free kick. The umpire called the free kick way too late.

Very interesting match atm, Adelaide doing quite well but can they keep it up for 4 quarters.
The Franklin report looked soft at first but the replay showed he may miss a week or more for that.

I was just thinking is there a gayer club song than Adelaide's? I mean Freo's is stupid, but Adelaide's is just gay

It does not matter. He played on after getting a free kick. Just bad luck.
