Would love to see this at the opening bounce.
If that doesn't work, Wello on Judd following up on his job on Gablett, and Thomas could be tried in his new tagging role on Murphy, that would also be a v interesting matchup obviuosly, or on STevens.

The thing I like about our game plan is we never rely heavily on taggers. We back ourselves to go head to head against the opposition. I think we will rotate people staying with Judd but a heavy tag will not be used because the players who would be best suited to tag Judd are mostly our creative running players i.e - Thomas, Clarke, Johnson & Wellingham.

I reckon you'd need a bigger body on Judd - he'd brush Thomas or The Sheriff aside (unless Daisy pulls out 'The Human Alligator Clip' tackle on him like he's been known to do).

I'd rotate Swan and Pendles on him - Swan to wear him down and Pendles to match him for pack magic.

this is also our downfall. Too often we let midfielders run riot against us. Black, Mitchell spring to mind. these guys always kill us.

True, but it does show Mick has faith in his players to get on top, sometimes this faith can be mis-placed and he often stubbornly refuses to change, but when it works he looks like he is worht every penny.

Wouldn't Rhyce be the obvious first cab ?

We need a genuine tagger. Not someone like Rhyce Shaw.

I was really impressed with how well Wellingham played on Ablett a few weeks ago. And even as a young bloke he wasn't outmuscled and stuck a few tackles too. I would like him to have first crack at Judd this week.

Q. How long did he play on Ablett?

Bloben

Not too long. He started on him though and I thought he played really well on him. For some reason he was moved off him.

I know Ablett was the only Geelong player that played well against us but Wellingham did impress me with how he shadowed him and pounced once he got possession. He is very good defensively but can make them accountable too by his creativity.

Thanks for that. I was at the match but was not paying much attention to it.

Put Pendles on Judd if he's right to go this week.

Rhyce owns him.

Exactly, Rhyce does a great job on him every time.
How come people don't bother to watch our games?

Ha ha ha.... Yes i'd like to see that too.

Thomas playing 8 meters away from him. Judd racking up 30 contested balls while Daisy gets his ussual 13 touches, 6 bounces in 8 steps and kick his 1 goal from the boundary line. Then you can all say that he beat him.
in the last 4 games he's had 21, 18, 20, 19 touches, kicked 6 goals in that time, with 19 tackles. (just under 5 tackles a game)

but thanks for your concern :)

Don't think Thomas is strong enough. Judd seems to hold his ground particularly well. We need a combination of Chris Bryan and Thomas. Could Marty Clarke share the honours with Wellingham?

id assume racer will get the job he always did when we played west coast.

But yes snag tackling judd is a team effort, two or more players must HIT him hard with tackles every possesion he gets, getting a holding the ball decision on judd well that is a miracle of biblical proportions that is

love to see Thomas on JUdd... Judd would destroy him..
Thomas is more damaging playing on the flank/wing and a run with role wont suit him IMO.
I think Thomas will be tagged by the blues anyhow

rover is more thomas' rule, and plays against an opponent at stoppages doesnt really try to prohibt them more get the ball himself.

Im expecting armfield to play on him, and gibbs to burns as well burnsy can school the youngster or hard imposing physically taxing football

i expect Armfiled to do the job aswell. Armfiled is extremely quick so it would match up well, and his tackling is brilliant being a ex rugby union player...
i describe Thomas as the ignition
if he ignites then all Collingwood get up with him, if he is quite they lose that little bit of spark. So for us Stoping Thomas and Didak is important.

i wouldnt waste thomas on judd, carlton will be shit scared of him, didak, davis, cloke, medhurst, pendles, shaw, swan and will wish they had picked wellingham instead of gibbs by the time this game is over.

they have 9 players to shite there pants over, ____ judd, just double team fev, the boys in black and white will sort out the rest.

either we lose and our season is over or we smash the blues and make top 4. either way this game is going to be very hard and nasty.

Just like Chad Cornes schooled Gibbs the other night lol ??? ..and Cornes is twice the footballer Burns ever was.
Gibbs had one of his best games against your mob last time if i'm not mistaken ..and really hurt a few pies players with some bone jarring tackling .

Chad cornes is a glorified soft ____.

Burns is one of the hardest and fairest players playing right now, baggng him is bullshit and you know it ____ head.

Gibbs hurt someone? i will just go ask steve milne about gibbs hurting. He liad some good tackles last time good for him but do pretend gibbs is a tough footballer that hurts people its embarrassing. Want to see a footballer hurt someone in a tackle watch scotty burns in full flight

Please.

Burns is one of the hardest players in the league, and terribly underrated. Cornes twice the player Burns ever was? In his dreams.

Please refresh my memory though, as to who was "hurt" by these tackles. Pendlebury tackles more than Gibbs anyway, I guess he'll be "hurting" some people too.

Thomas on Stevens would be the match up I'd like to see.

Stevens will have to be alot more accountable as he will get hurt the other way.

Oh Gibbs beat Cornes did he? Is this going to turn into another "but but but Raines beat Riccuitto"?

I suppose we can't stop Gibbs, whoever he plays on we are basically conceding defeat.

Thomas doesn't tag he gets tagged.AFAIK Thomas got out of his early form slump by being given tagging roles, seems to have done him the world of good, bringing him into the play etc. Looks like the way for his development to really accellerate, by playing on the best. I didn't know about Rhyce's history with Judd, I guess that means that will probably be the match-up initially. But it would be exciting to see Daisy marking Judd at some stage, but head-to-head with Murphy would obviously be interesting since they were about pick 1 and 3 in the same draft so there'd be a lot of pride and rivalry involved there. Would be a good challenge and learning curve for Thomas since Murphy is so light and quick when changing direction.
