This from Jabso from the Big Bad Bustling Brent Hall Thread (http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=93756&highlight=Brent+Hall)

Heath is a risky pick and a waste of 44, but (according to Noel Judkins) Rowe was a bargain at 60 so it might balance it out.

I didn't really mean pick 44 I meant our 2nd round pick. Brayden was by far the highest rated of the two cousins and Heath was barely rated at all, at the time I probably thought we could have got him with a later pick. Effectively my thoughts were that we were basically sacrificing a 2nd round pick for a 4th round pick calibre player (if we had just got Brayden he would have cost a 3rd round, because with 2 F/S it's a 2nd and 3rd round pick).

I think the worst part was rating Brent Hall so highly.

Guy would want to have been drinking 23 protien shakes a day and have creatine on an IV drip, otherwise I can't forsee much of a future at Collingwood. I wish him luck (but not as much as I wish him weight)!.

that was a good call, from the same thread

I think you will find that although brayden had all the accolades, the inner sanctum always rated heath more highly.

You are by far the World Champion at it, no one even gets close

Hehe, remember watching Collingwood at the 'G' in a huge upset win over the (then), all concquoring West Coast Eagles.

Saw a young kid in his first game called Andrew Tranquilli kick six and set the win up for us.

I promptly went home and told my brother I'd just watched a future Collingwood Champion!

Back in the day, I also had Ian McOrist winning a brownlow at Collingwood!

Bit late at night to do all that searching, surely!

We just saved someone else a first round mistake

Brayden was rated higher by most and had more 'form on the board' at junior level so to speak, but I believe it is true that the inner sanctum at Collingwood believed Heater had more potential and more development in him. A case of upside versus what-you-see-is-what-you-get.

Brayden didn't develop one iota at Collingwood where as Heater, after battling OP early on, went from strength to strength.

Is there any point to this thread other than fingerpointing and I-told-you-sos? If you're gonna start a thread like this, Dave, perhaps you can post a few of your own wrong calls to get the ball rolling? You know, just to demonstrate that you're not being a prat...
