JIM Stynes' appointment as Melbourne chairman has had an immediate impact with 300 memberships sold yesterday.
The phones started ringing at Demons headquarters at first thing yesterday, just 12 hours after Stynes took charge.
The Demons are now confident they can surpass last year's record membership of 28,077.
They now need only 335 more by the June 30 membership cut-off to chalk up the new record.
Good couple of weeks to get to 28k.
Terrific effort coming off a bad year and doing similarly shite this year.
i wonder how many non-members are posters here?
if there are any, please get off your ass and get a membership

Good news, but really, to stay alive we need 35-40 thousand members, which is what most clubs have right now. Next year we need 35k at least.

35 thousand to stay alive? No way.
30 thousand is the mark that will keep us afloat, after that it will just be bonuses and wiping the debt off a hell of a lot quicker.

Great news! I was hoping that would be the case but wasnt sure whether it would actually happen. Wonder if more will jump on if we win tomorrow.
Also on another note, I saw on TFS Jim read out an email address for anyone to contact that would like to help out the club in any way... does anyone remember it or know what it was. I'm a freelance online marketing consultant and also do a lot of design and web development so am prepared to donate 1 day a week for the club if they want it

I saw it but not sure what it was.
Try these, they're from the MFC crap AFL website. Maybe that's what you can offer to fix? I know that richmond have this thing on their AFL web page, it's a members link that takes you to a members only area. They have stuff like player reports on the VFL players from the VFL coach. We don't have that, do we?
Anyway,
General Enquiries - info@melbournefc.com.au
Commercial Operations - corporatesales@melbournefc.com.au
It would be interesting to know what they say to you, can you let us know? I think that if they agree and you do something for the club, maybe if you tell us it'll inspire more people to donate some time to the club.

Cheers mate, that was the one listed on the show... pretty simple so i really should've remembered it
The website has the worst usability I have ever seen, so thought it would be quicker to ask you guys here and come back to it then waste my time hunting through the **** that is the afl website

Yeah, the website is contracted out by Telstra and is owned by the AFL. Every clubs looks the same in layout just with different pics and info.

cmon people. seriously...
it was reported in my local news ltd paper that a hawthorn supporter and a family of pies supporters had bought melbourne memberships! wtf, if there are people reading this who are not members, THEN GO OUT AND GET ONE!!!!!!
if it is good enough for them to try and help us out, then it is definitely good enough for you.
i dont care if you live 1000km away or live on punt rd, get a membership today! even mcc members. there is an option to buy a mcc/mfc membership for $40. it still counts on our tally, so get out there and help our club.
that is my rant for the day.

The more i've been thinking about it... the thing i dont get is what these people were waiting for to sign up if they were supporters? What makes getting a new pres enough to push them over the line to renew their membership... who thinks like that? Did they just forget about afl and that they went for melbourne and only remembered they needed to renew their membership after they saw Jimmy on the front page of the HUN?
****es me off...
