From the East Perth v Swan Districts game yesterday:

Willo : Kicked 4 goals 6 and could have been 7 - was very windy though. Took his usual strong marks and at times was competing against 2 and 3 players at a time. Should definately play Eagles next week. (Lynch has to be dropped!)

Michael Prior: Was very good after a bad game last week. His foot skills are second to none. Seemed more sure of himself.

Jeremy Humm: Very good (as he is every week), hard at the ball and ran well.

Brent Tuckey: Didn't play. Hope he is back in two weeks for the second semi.

Kane Munro: Tried hard but what can you do in a team which is thrashed by 15 goals?

Ashley Hansen: As Above

Richard Taylor: As above -but was probably the best of the 3 Swans Eagles.

I am very worried that Kane Munro's future is being jeopardised by having to play in a team such as Swans. (I have nothing against Swans but they are easily the weakest team in the WAFL). When he was playing for East Perth last year I really thought he would become a regular AFL player. I just hope he will not become another Brandon Hill - a player who I think had his career ruined by having to play for Peel when they, like Swans now, were uncompetitive.

A highlight of yesterday's game was the tribute and respect shown to John Todd by the East Perth Football Club and by the 2000 supporters at the ground. Well done Toddy - you are a legend of WA footy and all the best for the future.

Yeah, I have that same worry for Munro and especially Hansen. Playing in the crappest team is not the easiest way to learn how to play the game and improve. At least Munro has played in a good team, Hansen hasn't. Anyway, hopefully Swannies can do better next year, but I doubt it.

Sorry, I forgot Zac Beeck. (He has only played a couple of games so that's my excuse !). He was playing very well until he appeared to injure his shoulder and left the ground. It was in the 3rd Quarter if I remember correctly. He didn't return to the field but that may well have been precautionary. For someone so tall, he has very good ground skills and is also fast. Looks to have a future. Just hope it is with East Perth and the Eagles and that he doesn't get stolen by an interstate club.

I went to Lathlain before driving like a maniac to get us all to Subi for the Eagles game.

McDougall was very impressive at Full Forward kicking 5 goals 1 (but 1 critical OOF in the last quarter)

Seaby was good in the ruck, forward (4 goals straight) and round the ground for the Falcons.

Lot of good young players on both sides and both teams will be good next year. Couple of potential draftees around too - keep an eye on Brent Lecras.

And we won a thriller.

VOR -You did well to get from Lathlain to Subi in time for the game! We were pleased that the Royals were at Leederville. We caught a taxi and just barely made our seats in time for the bouncedown.! We therefore missed the announcement that Pavlich has signed with the Dorkers. Who at Subi would have given a damn!

While at the Royals game, my husband rang my mobile to say that the radio were saying that Ben Cousins and Chris Judd were late withdrawals from the team. That certainly soured the rest of the afternoon for us. When are the media in Perth going to get their act together and try for some facts instead of rumour!
