I am hoping someone could help me. I am visiting Melbourne from the 6 - 9 April and being a Tasmanian, I would like to see the Sandringham Vs Tasmania match at Sandrigham.
I am staying near Spencer St Station, what bus/train would I need to catch to take out there? Which AFL club is Sandrigham currently aligned too and how do the Sandrigham fans rate their chances for season 2001?
Any information would be much appreciated.

Jerome,I'm a mad (is there any other kind) Box Hill Hawks fan but I can help you out.
Go to Spencer St station and get a train on the Sandringham line (sandringham is the last stop). The ground is smack bang between Hampton and Sandringham stations so either way you've got about a 1km walk...being a beachside suburb it's not an unpleasant one though.
Sandy are aligned with Melbourne do their side includes any Melbourne guys who aren't playing in the ones.As you know Sandy were premiers last year but they have lost several of their key VFL players this year and as Melbourne have a long injury list at the moment,a lot of their young guys are playing in the AFL,further depleting Sandy.Whether this is still the case by the start of the season ..who knows. They lost a practice match to Coburg ( who REALLY struggled last year) and we thrashed them last week so they're obviously struggling.
Could be a great oppotunity for the Tassie side to get a first up win.
I'm really glad that Tassie are in the comp and I hope they do really well..even though it's a tough ask at such short notice.
Anyway, have a ball at the REAL footy !!!

Thanks Richohawk,
To beat the reigning Premiers in our first game would be sweet. I'll be looking forward to it!
To the Tassie fans out there...Have we got a mascot or jumper yet?? You'd think someone would have organised all this and had it all ready in advance ... then again we are talking about Football Tasmania! They havent hired that bloke who designed The Mariners have they?
