A few very tough matches coming up.

Round 13 - Geelong at Subiaco
Round 14 - Hawthorn at MCG
Round 15 - Richmond at Subiaco
Round 16 - Brisbane at Gabba
Round 17 - St Kilda at Subiaco
Round 18 - Fremantle at Subiaco
Round 19 - Essendon at Subiaco
Round 20 - Melbourne at MCG
Round 21 - Hawthorn at Subiaco
Round 22 - Geelong at Skilled Stadium

I can see 5 almost certain losses, 2 possible wins and 3 50/50 games.

Thoughts? I'm thinking we will end up with 4 wins for the year. Snagging a couple more wins wouldn't be out of the question seeing how many games we have left at Subiaco.

Yer, how so? On the slop dished up on Friday night, be lucky to beat Melb at the MCG

Yer, how so?

Lately we have shown some fairly good form at home.

15, 17-20 are winnable.

Lately we have shown some fairly good form at home.

In patches, only one 4 qtr game thou this year! Terrible against the Dockers, Blues, Power and the last half of Sydney

15, 17-20 are winnable.

15 - Richmond - depends on which tiger outfit turns up, Richo could have a field day thou on the wide open Subiaco Oval

17 - Same as Richmond, except swap Richo for CryBoy

18 - No Chance

19 - No on Friday nights effort, have to hope Lucas and Lloyd are both out

20 - Might be the only one!

As the season goes on the younger ones will tire and since they appear to be the only ones putting in an effort, the so called Premiership players have been weak. lack leadship or just injuried 6 days a week!

I said winnable - I didn`t say will win.

We have shown that we can be very good and if we can get a Sydney first half effort in those games I have little doubt we will get wins.

My optimistic side says:

We can beat Geelong at home, Richmond at Subi, Brisbane at Gabba, Saints at Subi, Essendon at Subi, Melbourne at the G and Hawthorn at Subi.

My realist side says:

We will probably win 2-4 games more.

Round 19 is a certain win. Bombers at home is too easy.

Fremantle will be interesting in round 18 too. I suspect that they'll go an end of season run now which will actually see them losing out on good pick but picking up some pride.

Woodhouse will be licking his lips.

Depending on how much god hates us (the current answer being 'plenty') if the injury curse finally relents, at some point in the next few weeks we should field our best midfield group and best forward line (Wirra/Hunter/McKinley, Embley/Kennedy/Lecras) for the year- that should be enough to keep us clear of the spoon.

In some ways I was slightly relieved we lost to Essendon and Freo won, because it means we're probably in the box seat for #2 and a first round priority.

Yes, we all know the current system is stupid and tanking is a blight on the game, but given the rules, I can't help but think that our appalling run with injuries has actually been a blessing in disguise.

If we hadn't had the Lecras/Priddis/Kerr injuries and suspensions, there's a very good chance we'd have about 3 more wins at this stage (versus North, Sydney and Essendon most likely), which would have put us squarely in the 9th-12th ladder positions of death. Given the situation with the expansion sides in years to come, that'd be a horrifically bad outcome.

As long as we avoid the spoon, 5 years from now, noone will remember whether we finished 10th, 12th or 15th this season. They will, however, remember the guy we draft next year as he's stepping up onto the premiership podium.

Basically, imagine back to 2001, and pretend that Gardiner, Sierakowksi, Morrison, Prior, Wirrpanda etc had all played 22 games fully fit. That would have gotten us a few more Ws that year, and cost us Chris Judd and the '06 flag. Injuries are a dreadful misfortune when your team is in flag contention, and a handy bonus when you're in the bottom half of the ladder.

I think we'll win another 3-4 matches in 2008. 3 of the home games are winnable (Saints, Richmond, Essendon). Either Brisbane or Melbourne on the road is winnable - that could potentially be the one that decides whether we get a priority pick or not !

Success can never be taken for granted, especially in this even a competition.

They will, however, remember the guy we draft next year as he's stepping up onto the premiership podium. Dockers supporters will remember, and they'll make another reason why our next premiership doesn't count. You know, state team, drug tainted, maybe the next one will be tankers?:D Cant wait.:thumbsu:

I think we will win 1 more game. Thats it

against Essendon at Subi.
We've played shit away so count all the away games as losses.
Rich, Stk, Cats, Hawks will all be too strong for us EVEN HERE.
so that leaves 1 Essendon and even though they gave us a hidding on friday we will turn it around on them like we did to Adelaide.

The Demon's have got 4 losses coming up then they have NTH MELB, ESS, CATS, WCE, PORT, RICH as there last 7 games. They play all games at the MCG except against Port at AAMI, so they could win all bar 1 against the CATS(obvious) at the G. but if they have to win 3 games to drag themselves off the bottom as there percentage is way worse then ours.
So even though its possible for Melbourne to win a couple of games I doubt that they will and they will claim the wooden spoon with us dragging the chain right behind them!

Geez people say Im hard on the boys....

we should surely beat St.Kilda they are a rabble, and Richmond are on a downward spiral.

I do agree on the losing away games though but yeah we could beat the Dees at the G (maybe that should be a 50/50 game instead of a win).

Either way this year is poo.

You can't honestly pick possible winning games from losses anymore, not with the weird sh!t Woosh et al have been saying and doing lately.

What really p1sses me off is that outright lies about injuries, form and even team selections has become the norm for WCE lately.

Even if we could possibly field a winning combination, Woosh would come up with something out of the blue, and still somehow justify it.

If the guys manage to win something, it'll be despite the match committee, not because of it.

End up 6-16 and possibly 13th.I agree with you Cuzz09 but I think we will finish 15th, Essendon will finish 14th on percentage. For us to finish 13th Richmond would have to crash and I reckon Freo will finish with at least 8 wins.

Watch Woosha rest key players for those games and the eagles lose by 3-4 goals. Not tanking, merely smart list management. Need to keep players fresh for the finals

i personally will be devestated if WCE wins the wooden spoon. I dont care how many we win, but all I care is that we should never ever ever win wooden spoon.

Same, that is a point of pride for me.

It would be interesting though if we did finish last, because who the hell would we select? Pick 2 is an easy choice, we would take whoever is left. However, picking between NickNat or Rich is difficult given our need for quality mids and our desire for a quality second ruck!
