Where do we think chad jones will be this time next year? I like him as he has good marking and goal kicking, but lacks the athleticism needed in todays modern game. Definitely deserves another try IMO. He came in to subway (where i work) coincidently as we completed and handed over an order of subs for the entire north melbourne team-who delisted him (which was an awkward moment). I asked him how the injury was going and he said he is recovering well and he should only be 2 weeks away. After commenting on my status as a member for 8 years, he responded by saying that although these are dark times, you should stick through them, as their is light at the end of the tunnel, to which i responded, yeah, we're not freo. Seems like a good bloke who is very loyal and honest to the team. He does seem like a late bloomer so perseveering will not hurt.

He could possibly just survive, it all depends on if we want extra youth on our list.

Cant see him being a long term solution to be honest.

He might get a spot on the list next year but weve got some quality talls coming through and he would have to do a lot to get a spot and then actually perform in the AFL to keep it.

Saying that he did ok, and had he been more accurate last year he probably wouldve kept his spot.

Hit the post like 5 times didnt he?

keep for sure i reckon. he really needs a solid 10 week period of footy before we can really judge what he brings to the club.

if he has a killer preseason next year and starts in the side, he could kick quite a few goals.

no need to delist him since he's only about 23 anyway. the potential is there. i think the coaching staff rate him as a FF.

Totally agree. No point in just dumping him, he has never had an extended run to show what he can do. Give him another year and let him prove himself.

Never been a fan of his.
Too one dimensional, and hasn't shown anything to suggest he could be a gun. With Kennedy, McKinley, Lynch & Brown as the forward talent I don't think we need another average KP forward on our list.

He does seem like a late bloomer.

What on earth would make you say that? What are you making that comment based on???

I rate him and think he is a very handy player. Showed a lot earlier this year, and is usually a great kick for goal. Even if he can only lead, mark and kick, thats all he needs to do if hes doing it well and the midfield is delivering properly. I'd be happy with 2-3 goals a game from him which he seems capable of at the moment. I really hope he gets a few games later this year (if he returns) and another go next year.

probably the fact that he was shithouse at north and hardly got a game, yet while at west coast has improved his game significantly to the point of actually being considered for selection.

As his sponsor i feel like i have to defend the guy, So he WILL be the 2009 Coleman Medalist:p
But in all seriousnous he may be retained on the list for next yr but where will he slot in when we have Lynch, Kennedy and McKinley. I know McKinley isnt a tall forward but he plays like one.

I can only see him being retained incase for injuries.
