View Full Version : Harry "The Diver" Taylor
Contact between Port Adelaide's Daniel Motlop and Geelong's Harry Taylor from the third quarter of Sunday's match was assessed. Motlop's action was a pushing motion and not a strike. No further action required.
So what they are saying Harry was "pushed" in the head forcing him to lay on the ground for a good 10 seconds after the play had left.
In other words Harry Taylor is a diver.... What a load of bull crap. Everyone in the ground saw him get punched. The match review panel are a bunch off useless spuds.
Exactly what I thought. How can a swinging fist be constituted as a push?

He pushed him in the head ... Really dicks me off that. Motlop was beaten convincingly the contest by a bloke who has played less than ten games of footy. Motlop then gets him in the head....
I guess it sums up Port Adelaide's game. They knew they were beaten and they went the man.
Unnecessary but didn't deserve a suspension
Was hardly a punch, just a little hook with the forearm.
The thing that really irked me about that wasn't so much the fact he did it, which was bad enough, but when he decided to walk up to a prone Harry and just stand over him like some tough guy.
Would've laughed if Harry raised a leg when Motlop stepped over him and kicked him in the Gangulys....but judging by the way Motlop played yesterday, Harry would've been more likely to lose a boot than hit anything resembling Gangulys if he was to do that. :p

That was my assessment as well.

but thats the point, you cant do that...you lose a 1-1 contest sure you're frustrated, let out the F word or punch the ground, dont 'hook' a guy on the ground in the face. thats not how the world works.

Motlop is a dirty little sniper. I have lost all respect for him now. There is no honor in hitting a bloke while he is down and has his back to you. Cowards act IMO.

Hahah agreed. Then he had the nerve to have a go at HT.
Don't worry - they are just laying precedent so when Adam Goodes king hits someone the tribunal can call it a push and ensure he avoids suspension.

I was sitting 5-10 metres away from the incident, with a direct view of it and it certainly didn't look like a 'push' to me.

TV replay showed it as looking pretty half-arsed to me. He shouldn't have been suspended, the right choice was made. Contact was very low impact, definitely not fist and only vaguely head. For those that lament the game getting too soft, you should be happy.

The worst thing is that good fair bumps get a player suspension or points knocking them out of the brownlow but a swinging forearm to the head gets nothing. How weird is that?
Priorities are way out of whack

Whilst on Taylor, the kid is a very accurate and penetrating kick, seems to make good decisions.
A great pick up and will only get better with more games under his belt.

Agree Sarah. He also seems to have the uncompromising courage that our backline has.

Does look very composed and has a great attitutde from all reports. Just needs to get a tad bigger and stronger. Interesting reading an article on the weekend about Harry that said that he used to be an absolute rake and only started putting on the pounds when he was living with Woewodin and learning how to eat and prepare yourself...
toughen the f#$K up people harry can look after himself and i am sure he has a good memory.what i would like to know,if anyone can tell me how i can get hold of the news reel that show harry juggling the 3 balls against the wall at an early game this year.the guys at work don't believe me.

I was at the game and the guys just a dirty player. I never had anything against him but after that i just hate the bloke.
I loved it at 3 quarter time with all the crowd booing lol. The port players probabley couldnt hear Choco addressing them it was that loud.

He needs consecutive games... hopefully he gets to play on for the remainder of the season. When Egan returns next year there possibly isn't room for him, which is a shame. Harley should retire to make this happen.
