71%. Just passed by 1% despite having a massive hangover after a school break up. Everytime I looked in the mirrors I went dizzy! Thank God I didn't have to pass a breath test first.

Ahh... those were the days!:D

Failed getting my p's once. Apparently i COULD OF stopped for an orange light, silly me deciding it was safe enough to go though:o

Passed both of them without issues first time. I had my instructor with me on the test and he told me later he was freaking out because he noticed that I didn't look for incoming traffic when going down a sliplane and merging onto another road. ahahahahah.

So by all accounts I probably shouldn't have passed.

Passed my Ls first time; but never ended up going any further. Had a few driving lessons, and apart from being a bit of an accidental lead-foot, I found my eyesight just wasn't good enough, and my nerves couldn't cope with all the other idiots out there on the road. So now I just stick to public transport.

I passed my L's no problem. And the P's computer test.

Now here comes the fun story.

Doing the driving test for my P's, everything was going nice and smooth. Turning down the street to get into the car park to finish the test, and there was a man walking down the street just ahead of the car. He stopped to cross, I looked at him and he nodded me through. So I make the turn, head into the car park and park the car. I look back at the tester to see what she has to say she hands me back the paper and license telling me I had instantly failed for failing to give way to that man. My instructor was furious with that, and told me to get out we're going to fight her decision. So I get out of the car and walk over to the VicRoads office and stand at the desk, where the instructor and tester go at it for a good 20 minutes. I pop in with a simple. "I don't care if I failed, but I know for a fact he nodded me to make the turn", she disagrees and walks back into another room. We're talking to the manager of that office, who is telling us they can't over rule her decision. She comes out 10 minutes later, telling us after talking to other testers out the back, that if he had stepped onto the road, it would be an instant fail, but seeing as he hadn't it should only be a deduction of a point.

I passed with 98% after she deducted a point rather then failing me. So I passed and failed the same driving test. :)

You must be pretty nervous, Phil?

Imagine failing your driver's test twice! My younger sister failed her p's the first time and she was so nervous, thinking she might make a mistake, like.. I don't know move into the right lane without indicating, or failing to check mirrors while braking or forgetting to change gears at the appropriate time!

I couldn't imagine having to re-do a drivers test that I already failed.. you must be feeling sick and constantly replaying the first failed test in your mind over and over.

Well.. good luck!! :thumbsu:

Haha, no pressure or anything!

That said, i've heard the system for this Green P's test is just stupid. Some silly computer test where you're meant to click when you need to stop/turn?

Yeah the hazard perception test is a waste of time. Apparently the new rules include 1 year on your red p plate (restrictions like 1 passenger and all that shit) and 3 on your green p plates. I got some green plates in the mail last week and they look pretty stupid.

Passed both first time.

Did start the P's test off bad though due to not releasing the handbrake when reversing out of the car park

Failed mine for the first time today.
Worst day ever. Spewing because now I have to go for the red Ps, rather than the green ones.
It was so wierd, don't want to sound up myself but I think I am a very good driver. Just that as soon as the tester walked into the car, my feet wouldn't stop shivering, lol. It was ridiculous. My palms got sweaty on the steering wheel too. I haven't had that feeling since VCE exams last year.

I always thought I performed well under pressure, guess that was a bit of a reality check.

Ever since I rebooked it, I've been on the net searching of ways to calm nerves, but I think that this initial fail is just going to make me nervous next time.

D-Day : July 26th

Don't worry about it, mate. I was the same the first time.

Just do a couple of things before next time,

1) If it's a woman testing you, tell her you're slightly nervous (sexist, perhaps - but females are slightly more lenient in that regards)

2) Count to 5 before you enact any of your decisions. Giving yourself time to think is the best way to alleviate tension

3) Drive 5km slower than you usually would.

Do that and you'll be sweet.

Did you pass the second time Phil? I drove 5-10km's slower and I was fine. :thumbsu:

I haven't even bothered for Ls yet... the new Ps thing they've got is a massive disincentive (is that a word??)

My girlfriend failed her hazards though and said it was a stupid piece of shit

I got my Thai licence about nine years ago. Ehat an experience. No driving test, although now it's compulsary, and the the translation of the question sheet to English were so ambiguous it was almost impossible to understand what they meant. No problem. I handed in my answer sheet. About five minutes later it was returned to me with all the incorrect answers erased. Once agein I completed the shet and the process was repeated. On my third attempt I passed the test.
Formalities completed, my Thai wife decided she should get her's also. Simple process, pay the money, fill in the forms, and you are licensed for life.
No wonder the road death toll he is so high.
Good luck to all fellow Hawks going for their tests.
