Could it be that this Saturday against The Power we will really see the next step in our slow & painfull resurgence?

With Johnson injured and Pettifer and Tivendale already banished, we will almost certainly see the end of Hyde and perhaps even Bowden this week.
When was the last time we fielded a 22 without one of these "honest battlers"? (Of late anyway)

A change is in the wind Tiger faithfull. Our year of development continues...

Hughes and Polo must come into the side. Keep them in the side whether they play well or not. Interstate games are always tough to bring in a young player because if we get smashed they will look ordinary. But we won't do any better with Bowden in the forward line so just bring in the future please

Crunch game :thumbsu:

If we are to step up a level then we will win 8 of the last 10 games and play finals.

Then next year we will win our first 7 of 10 games and finish top 6 before dropping back a little in 2010... then comes THE YEAR!

I wouldn't bring in Hughes, he doesn't chase and tackle, like Schulz/Riewoldt. Hughes can play if he is played deep forward. I think Hyde will play, Bowden and Schulz to be dropped IMO.

The new dawn started when we moved Frawley on.

Since then, the club has followed a carefully drawn out plan to recruit the best available youngsters and mould them with our strong list of senior stars.

Sure there have been a few hurdles on the way, but it's pretty clear now that our recruiting and coaching teams have indeed got the playing group heading in the right direction.

And how did Kent Kingsley fit into this carefully drawn out plan to recruit the best available youngsters?

You're not fooling anyone

Unfortunately that "new dawn" has since turned out to be another ____ of a day...and yet again we're left waiting for tomorrow's sunrise....

Kent Kingsley was a PSD pick. We didn't have to give away anything for him so it was worth a punt. U can't go get a 17 year old with every single pick you get. There has to be a balance.

Hughes must come in this week. Has had several weeks of good form at VFL level. If i remember correctly was originally from SA, perhaps their CHF at the u/18 state carnival. Could turn it on for the friends and family.
I dont know why he has turned into our newest whipping boy. Has performed well for a young KPP. Has the genuine size to be a proper key target (unlike reiwolt). Personally i think he has the capacity to explode on the scene.
Has been one few reccent recruits who has actually shown the capacity to bulk up. I think with a bit more empahsis on cardio over the coming months, could be very hard to match up on. Still feel he may be the young key forward option we have all been waiting for!

I'm pretty sure he was the All Australian CHF at U/18 level:)

What is that based on?

We've already had more wins this year than all of 2007.
Definate proof that it's turned around and success is a surety

the people calling for shultz to be dropped. stop. think

port made a play for shultz last year & shultz was eager.
he will want to show them exactly what they missed out on & will perform better than usuall there has to be abit of feeling there.

2nd point is if he does play a top game against port & port looklike they may finish loww this year.

we might just be able to score a really good trade for him if we choose to trade him. maybe even their 2nd round pick.

And last year we had more losses than 2006, so I guess that is definite proof that you have NFI.

I'm assuming you mean Leni Riefenstahl, the German film director who made a number of epic propaganda films for Hitler.

That's rubbish Sante about Shulz and Riewoldt. Just for your information Jack is no.8 and Shulz is no.25 so take a look over the next few games. Yeah they can improve but Jack, especially, is not in the same boat as Hughes.

I want to see what happens over the next few games regarding finals rather than worry about bringing in youngsters. Keep them in if they are performing, or bring in guys like Hughes if we need a full forward but at the moment Richo is kicking goals from FF when he's there and guys like Shulz, Polak, Jack, are playing as they have more flexibility than Hughes. so that when Richo goes up the ground one of them can move from the hf line or the back line to the full forward line. simple.

Im just curious where you made that comparison from ?

Have you seen them side by side at a Coburg Game ?

They are the same height , and Reiwoldt has more bulk.

The RFC website lists them as the same height. Unless Cleave has bulked up in the last 3 weeks ... and added 5 or so Kilo's. Your statement is just plain not right.

192 CM's and 81 KG's (as listed ) Is not bulked up..
