Lachy doesn't seem to be 'coming on' with the Roo's. Do you think we should make a play for him at the end of the year? What would it cost us? He was an avid RFC supporter before joining NMFC and dreamed of playing next to Richo:D

I like Tambling but a direct swap would be fair.

North seem to be in need of pace and left footers, therefore a straight swap of Hansen for Tivendale would be about right...

Would be awesome get for us. Does anyone know if he has re-signed because his contract would be up. He would be seen as a traitor but he would get to live his dream and would be sensational get for us. I would give a bit for that but what would it take I am not sure.

North would want a first round offer.

First and foremost, can he actually play?

I doubt the Kangaroos would give up on him this early in his career btw. I mean, he's only 18 months in and was taken pick 3 in the "superdraft."

Would probably cost us our first round draft pick and maybe even some more after that.

Dont know much about him, could be a good move, but lets not forget Polak was a high pick in a previous superdraft and he isnt exactly setting the world on fire.

We would need to really look before we lept on this one.

The one time i saw Hansen in the VFL match he looked very ordinary.

He's had injury set backs but I know from a couple of Roo supporter mates he his highly rated at Arden st, wouldn't be going anywhere ATM.

He appears to be the 'lemon' top 10 selection of that draft.....so far. It appears he won't be a star in the game and just because he's a Tiger at heart doesn't mean he'll be any better in the yellow and black...

c'mon think how hard he'll work to play alongside richo. i know i would if i dreamt of it and if it could happen

the way i see it kangars aint going to pass on mckernan no mater what so maybe downgrade our pick? like we did with polak and got riewoldt?? then we can nab up trengrove and get hansen? we mite have to offer a third rounder or second rounder aswell? we should finish below kangars..so what r everybodies thoughts?
we could put our trust in hughes and JR but.. how confident are we?

it puts the kangars in a better position to get him so would they consider?
we could even draft mckernan ourself and send him to the kangars a couple of years later for more then what we paid for?theres no doubt he wouldnt want to go there as it has been stated he loves the roos to bits.

Roos are vying for the top 8, they dont play younger players until they are ready becasue they got a lot of more senior players on their list. hansen hasnt done much so i doubt they would bring him in any time soon.

i played on him in a fourths GF in 2003.

Took 12 marks, kicked 4 goals & had 20-odd touches & gave him an absolute bath.

6 weeks later he was playing for Australia in IR.

I didnt get it.

We dont need him.

I was just thinking the other day how well the Jack Riewoldt selection has turned out for us. Despite my biased opinion of Jack he has proven a fair bit more value than some of the much touted better selections at the time, i.e. Gumbleton, Hansen and Sellar none of which are playing senior footy for one reason or another. I saw Hansen playing for Tassie a fair bit and he impressed at times but was very up and down, lacked consistency. According to reports he got a touch up from Riewoldt week before last when he was dropped to Coburg so perhaps we shouldnt be in too much of a hurry to get the kid.

Cant believe this thread got so many replies
Pretty sure everyone knows that talls take longer to develop
If we wanted hansen we would have to give up a 1st rounder and a gun player at least .

"he hasnt showed much yet"
hhahah well if its as easy as that how about

Pettifer for Leunberger
Hyde for Gumbleton
Tivendale for Hansen

all sounds fair to me:)

Keep Dreaming

Then again, two years ago your attitude would see us trade Chris Newman for Livingston at Carlton.

He's had injuries. You can't say he is a 'lemon' or 'isn't coming on'. If they were to give him up it would have to be for a good and young player. With regards to this who, with any market value, could we actually trade apart from Tambling?

North have deliberately kept Lachlan back in order to develop his body so that he is ready to assume a KP next year. If he had been at Melbourne, Port Adelaide etc I'm sure he would have been getting some important match experience. Laidley continues to show misguided faith in his older players such as Brown, Jones etc and its only lately that he's started to play some of the younger guys. Lachy had any interrupted pre-season with a foot injury and played sore for a number of weeks.

Was getting over his foot and would have been in the team for their game against West Coast but unfortunately did his medial ligament and had 4 weeks off before resuming for Werribee against Coburg. Was obviously short of a gallop in that game and will be slowly getting his match fitness back.

I suspect that he will be in the Roos team sooner than later and a regular from next year. Would love to have him at Richmond as he has an enormous engine and when his body size is around the 100kg he will be a huge asset. I don't expect that he will be going anywhere soon as the Roos see him as a 10 year + player.

Hey bigpapagman I notice that you said that Lachie played against you in the fourths GF in 2003 and 6 weeks later was representing Australia in Ireland. Nice to have something to hang on to but he went to Ireland in March 2005 which is more like 76 weeks later. A player can develop a lot in 18 months!!!!

So did Cotchin :p

Nah but he should be a good player, I'd be getting worried if he doesn't have a kind of influence next year though.

Guess we'll see this w/e how good he might be, n if hes worth pursuing.
Not that you can tell from one game, unless hes very good...but then his value'd go up :(
