For me it's Physical Graffitti. Great album with a wide array of different songs and some great solos from Jimmy Page!
Either I, II, IV, Houses of the Holy or Physical Graffiti (of that lot). Better than all of them IMHO is their double BBC Sessions set, Page's playing on that is beyond belief.

I too, love the BBC sessions. From the list, I waffle between listening to I - IV. The rest of them, I just play selected favorite numbers and pull the disc. Favorite Zep tune is 'The Rain Song' as recorded on 'The Song Remains the Same.' Coda sucks.

What's your problem with III, Darky??
I ain't gonna choose, as it would be like picking your favourite child.
Led Zep I through to Physical Grafitti are all Rock and Roll perfection!

Certainly no problem with III, it's a great album as are the other five I mentioned. III just doesn't grab me the way some of the others do, maybe it's just a familiarity thing where I've had the other albums longer (except PG).
II, IV, Houses of the Holy are my favourites. But asking someone to choose their favourite Led Zep album or song is liking taking a child into a lolly shop and telling them to choose just one. Almost impossible to do.:)

Just pick one people! ;)
Houses of the Holy by a poofteenth.
I am usually one to shy away from the commercial side of things, but I reckon Led Zeppelin IV is close to the best album ever.

I can't believe how uncanny this is. After reading that recent post asking about peoples favourite Black Sabbath album, I was thinking about doing one for Led Zeppelin but decided against it as I didn't think it would get much of a response. Well blow me down, here is just the thing and everyone is keen to provide an answer !! Fantastic, still going to get the answer.
For the record, I really dig 'Physical Graffiti', was released as a double vinyl album and does not have a real low spot on it.
I also enjoy 'In Through The Out Door' as it was a bit of change from their normal formula. The best bit about that album was that it was released with four different album covers. All were of the sam ething, the brown & white shot in the bar, but there was four different postions in which the photos were taken. Add to that the slip out cover which had one of those 'magic' pictures in which you could use a childrens paintbrush and water to colour it in and it was quite a unique packaging stunt at the time.
1 when it was released made people take notice but 2 made everybodys head turn especially the riff for Whole Lotta Love. It's my favourite only because of it's impact.
I think 4 was Zep at their height.
I voted for Physical Graffiti, but III and In Through The Out Door are close behind.
I thought there were six covers for ITTOD? Whatever, there are a number of people in the bar scene, and there was one cover shot taken from each person's viewpoint. Then they put them in a brown paper bag so you couldn't tell which one you were getting! Brilliant marketing move - how many fan(atic)s bought six copies? :D

You may be right on that score, it could have been six. I only ever saw four different covers coz that's all we could find when we pooled them together between my mates.
Yeah, the brown paper bags idea was a stoke of genius. In fact the whole marketing for the album was very clever overall.
Zep IV, quite simple really.
One of THE greatest albums of all time.
where's wally?

My top three...
Physical Graffiti
"Zoso" (Led Zep IV)
Led Zep II
But having said that, I would gladly listen to any one of their efforts at any time whatsoever... :)
Cheers,
William
