It's pretty funny how a team 2nd on the ladder after 12 rounds can have a % of only 97.

Yep, life's a little more exciting when the swannies are flying. :thumbsu:

Hopefully we can cause a major boilover this weekend, although I won't hold my breath I'll be there hoping for the best.

They mentioned tonight on WAFL On that Krakour is going to jail which is a blow plus losing Yarran and Nicnat to U18's but the ressies are flying too so hopefully we will find a replacement (if possible).

Krakouer hasn't played for a while so it won't be hard to cover for him. Naitanui and Yarran will be a big loss though, you are a different side without them. Just like Souths without Murphy.

How ironic that they look like getting pinged for salary cap infringements the week that they play Subiaco.

The 2 tassie boys did alright for ths swans. Tim Geappen bobbed up for 4, and also the match-winning point, and Robinson got plenty of it. Was a great game to watch, good to see Spandermann actually had a crack for once, and dominated.

Starting to show his age and not be quite so ageless. However, he did lift markedly in the second half today IMO, still at the bottom of packs and getting looked after by the umps. :thumbsu::D

And to think I went to the game today (had to leave just after half time though :thumbsd:) with little hope of winning. Shame on me!

Go you black ducks!

Chrsco, you would have done better to stay and watch the Black Ducks, rather than go and see Geelong go through a glorified training run. Get your priorities right son !!!!!.

It was a good win by the Duckies, but they have to keep that tempo up. Have Subi peaked ?.

The injection of Nata, Yarran and Co could add the cream. Subi will only add Rich, who to my eyes is "tanking". The finals series could be very interesting.

So true, but I wasn't watching Geelong. I was at Noranda Hawks Auskick night, and I saw a fair bit more in a few of my 5's group than the Eagles boys showed!

Agree with you on Rich also.

Finally got down to Basso today to get something out of my membership and we lost to the garlic munchers by 8 points. Came back from 4 goals down in the third quarter to lead by two but let it slip.

Very impressed with Garlett and Yarren. Both players have a magnificent one touch style play and look very composed and skillful. Nicnat is actually a lot bigger in the body than I thought but his disposal is not the greatest and doesn't look too strong overhead for mine but his chasing, jumping and tackling is second to none.

I really cannot see why Freo picked up Bradley as he is shite by WAFL standards letalone AFL.

The colts are flying too after a great victory over perth at eftel:thumbsu:
Luke Adams, Todd Banfield and Steve Potente were among the best on ground it was a great effort on behalf of the boys to lift and not stop til the final siren went

Lost to East Perth :thumbsd:

Lucanus_5
13 Jul 2008, 00:08
colts had a massive loss to east perth today.
many of the state players were missing and some of the higher quality players had to play reserves:thumbsd:
most of the players who are meant to be superstars did nothing and i think some other players need to be given a go. some of the younger players need to be dropped and give some of the true squad a go.
Simon Parry was probably the standout player for swans along with Dermoitt Wilson.
Sam Pullman was the only multiple goal kicker with 3, Steve Potente 1, Luke Adams 1.
Swannies were resting a lot of players who i'm sure will be back for finals when swannies go back to back colts premiers

Lucanus_5
13 Jul 2008, 01:15
also with the colts who are bringing younger players in i think the younger players should be dropped for players like chris scott and marinko knezovic who are both promising prospects

And so the roller coaster ride continues! Not looking great against East Freo, unless we get some players back!

Lucanus, how did Damon Starkey go today? Did Blight play and if so, how did he go?

Used to it... it is dejavu! Hopefully we'll finish off strong but losses to Easts and Shark were unexcusable and unfortunately very Swan Districts like.

At least we are looking at a finals berth!

Sorry for taking the piss Lach, you are a genius at the end of the day, because we only have to head to the lounge room to watch this entertaining clash on Saturday. :thumbsu: It's supposed to be the broadcast match of the day. I've been asked to attend a function at East Perth so have to head down there, but that should be good.

Yep, I've got my membership, plus 1 extra junior one. Funny story that, I wanted a junior Swans footy for my boys, but the club said they didn't have any. I could see over the counter and saw all these footballs in white bags and asked how I could get one of them. Anyway, my 8yo is now stoked because he has his own membership, just so I could get a Swans football :D.

Very admirable, particulary as he gets in free but it's not the point is it. I'd encourage everyone to buy a membership, you don't get much for it but the pride you feel when you put that sticker on your car is immense. I've been dragging the old boy down there as he played Colts and seconds for Swannies and like to catch up with old mates. I've also dragged my Wife, she actually prefers WAFL atmosphere to the AFL game I took her to

Hey Chrsco, noticed that you are respected on this board, from that I guess you have a sound knowledge of WAFL footy.

What are your thoughts on potential WAFL rookies/ late pick-ups ala Clint Jones.

Has anyone stood out this year to the point where they cannot be ignored?

Personally being a souths fan I think Reece Adams and Nathan Phillips are doing alot of things right. Both 19/20 and playing some really good footy.

Broughton from Subi?

Liam Anthony and Wolfenden.

Richardson and Ballyntyne, even Triplett.

Are these blokes a genuine chance or are we just gunning for our local boys with Rose coloured glasses?

Lach72

I like Phillips.

Anthony and Wolfenden are the most likely IMO. Followed by Ballantyne and Richardson. I'm with Lach on Richardson, can't see him being overly useful at the next level because there will be bigger more mobile defenders on him. Oliver from EP might have been a chance but I think he's been playing a bit of reserves so not likely now. Garlett from Swans is also being looked at and Adams I would think is more likely than Phillips, although I do like Phillips. Siekerka and Seamus Young are also rumoured to being scrutinised by the AFL clubs.

I don't see as many being taken as last year simply because it was a shallower draft and some of the 19/20 yo's that had missed out the year before just stood out.

Which is what I expected when you've got a large chunk of experience and your first 22 players out. Did a great job with what they had, I thought, couldn't run with Subi all day. Then when I saw Yarran at the ice cream truck with me, I thought, holy toledo, we'll be lucky to be within 120 points by the end of the day.

Well, with 7 Black Ducks players being invited to Draft Camp, out of 13 or so WA boys, not a bad effort. Most of them everyone knows, Naita, Yarran, Walters, Jetta, but congrats also to Jarrad Blight from the colts. Liked the look of him early in the season and have followed his form and will get to see him again tomorrow, so hopefully he has a good one.

Well done black ducks. :thumbsu::thumbsu:
