How is he going, is he playing for Coburg?
From what i heard he was starring in the preseason, is he likely to see any game time this year coming off the rookie list?
Just asking cause i wanted dons to pick him up last year, and cause of friendship to jetta, 31 pick in 2006 superdraft or something.....

played a cracking game 2 weeks ago is struggling as he's on the rookis list and we don't have many injuries this year, is trying hard to get his head together

Because he is on the rookie list he is the first to be dropped back to Coburg 2nds when the 12 player rule is enforced.

Makes it hard for him to get a consistent game at the same level. I saw him two weeks ago playing for the burgers and I was gobsmacked at how good he was.

We definetly will be keeping him,. Will he get a game this year - not sure probably not as no long term injuries.

I can see him as our long term forward pocket impact midfielder if he gets himself right.
Seriously good player

He is doing well considering. He was very unfit and overwheight when he arrived, wouldnt suprise me if he was upgraded off the rookie list at the end of the year.

If we want to keep him, one of the players who we are going to cut will suddenly get injured and go onto the long term injury list. We will then upgrade him. This is what we did last year iwth Ray Hall, and what St Kilda tried to do with Gehrig.

If you retire palyers before the end of the year you can't upgrade a rookie to their place. So everyone just gets injured. The AFL is a bit of a wake up to this though...

thanks for the information, good to hear he is doing well.
And you have the luxury of bringing in him if you have a injury, it would be good for him to learn from Nathan Brown, and he could mould his game like nathans.

Have a look at him at yesterdays training, Looking fitter then when he first came to us. He has been working really hard on his fitness.
Put it down will be a Gem! :thumbsu:

How old is he?

Same draft as Edwards, Riewoldt, Conners...so therefore 19/20

Wow, he has shed ALOT of fat. Get him in Coburg 1's ASAP! If he comes good we'll have a replacement for Browny in the genuine footy freak department.

Travelled to the NT with Richard Tambling and club officials a month ago.

Every morning the two woke up early and went for a long run.

Clayton is maturing as a person and beginning to put in the hard yards required to become an AFL footballer, if he continues as he is and those around him remain a positive influence then I'd back him to become a good player.

Can we get a comparision of him now to the start? I like the guy, remember his Debut for Freo the fans all basically loved him as if he was bigger than the Pav.

Funny considering how many of our kids need to stack on the weight that it's such a good thing to see one of them lose half of theirs

He was never much bigger than he was in the April pic. He was 90kg when we picked him up, which is 8kg over his ideal playing weight.

Well done Clayton! I'm sure there are plenty of people at the club who are proud of you, now keep doing it for 12 more years and help us win a few flags! :thumbsu:
