McNamara is out? WTF :thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd::mad::mad:

I really don't understand that, he played an excellent game last week, is he injured? Not even an emergency

Bit of experience into the side.

Masten has a hip injury according to westcoasteagles.com.au

Thank god Seabys out

Pretty disapointed about J-Mac thought he should have kept his spot, was great in the 1st half last week.

Would have left McNamara in and made Braun or Fletcher take another week off. The kid deserves another game after last week.

Good to see McKinley back in. :thumbsu:

Will be good to see how Wirra, Le Cras and McKinley go together.

Not a bad forward line this week actually:

HF: LeCras Hansen ---
FF: McKinley Hunter Wirrpanda

Seaby has been dropped, so looks like Lynchy will be playing as the backup ruckman.

Rushed back from injury.... then suspended now he cant get in? Not even emergency!!!

I'm not going to use the word but some of these selections are puzzling to the extreme. McNamara simply showed more than Braun based on his performance last week, Masten has been nothing but impressive, definitely more so than Schofield/Fletcher/Houlihan/Braun and co in my opinion. Armstrong appears to be ahead of both Masten and JMac in Woosha's pecking order for some reason I can't understand. Good to see Kerr back in the lineup, and at the risk of trolling good to see Seaby back out of the lineup!

Masten apparently has a hip injury, that's why he missed. Surprised about McNamara, but we are playing Geelong, they probably just wanted to bring some experience and hardened bodies back into the side.

Proberly Brauns last year, and could be fletchers, test them see how they go against an elite midfeidl (specially fletcher who made be touch or go). Hansen back in is long overdue, let him prove to people he aint finished.

Gees, McNamara was one of our best last week, deserved to retain his spot. Oh well, lets hope these older players have a dip. Writing is on the wall for Seaby and perhaps Staker.

Well Masten is injured, so that is a no brainer. J-Mac, while good last week is not in our best 22 when Braun, Fletcher, Kerr etc are available.

Geez everyone whinged and bitched last week because we were tanking by playing the kids, now we bring back some experience, at the expense of the kids, and we still are doing the wrong thing?

Good choice to leave him out, he has only played one game since round 7 and was in poor form before that. Go and get some fitness/ form in the WAFL.

Hansen, Fletcher in?

Davis, McNamara, Waters not in?

Looking at Geelong's defence it's full of medium sized defenders. At least we didn't leave Seaby and Staker in to 'go tall', as that has never worked, even with a gun midfield.

Very disappointed McNamara is out, he looked the goods last week. Thought if someone young went out it would be Houlihan, not J-Mac.

Hopefully Masten will get himself right soon enough. The ins bring experience, but would have thought one of Fletcher, Hansen and Braun would have another week off - 3 players back from injury?

I was certain Waters would be included in the team - I'm not fussed that he isn't but have always thought that the Match Committee really rate his influence (despite his poor disposal at times).

Oh wells, what can ya do? I'm still confused about J-Mac though!

I am expecting a good game. I think we will win, but by about 4 goals.

Our 'unchanged' line up is the first time we have been unchanged for this year I think.

do you understand how football works??? just because in theory braun and fletcher are in our best 22. (which is debatable) doesnt mean that if they are available they should be rushed in at all costs, jmac played well and was far from our worst player so should be rewarded for his form, simple....

I'd have to disagree, Fletcher and Braun have been good if not better than McNamara. If they happened to miss a week through injury, they've certainly earned the right to be put straight back in at the cost of a newbie. Maybe someone else should have lost their spot, but I support the decision to put Braun and Fletcher in at any time.

what you said here is exactly right but what im saying is you cant just drop a kid after a bloody encouraging performance, he put everything in on friday night with no reward, in my opinion its not a good way to develop your young players. he is the future, braun and to an extent fletcher arnt.

I agree with this, when bringing along the young kids you cannot have them looking over their shoulder constantly expecting to be in one week dropped the next. Particularly after playing well.

I dont think Kennedy 17 was actually saying JMAC should be in at the expence of braun or fletcher I think he was saying that there was probably other who hadn't played as well and there for JMAC should have kept his spot!:thumbsu:

Yes I do, but with a hint of I told you so in there.
Yes : Bringing back all the Premiership players we could.
I TOLD U SO: If we lose they will say "well maybe a younger faster kid may have helped and we were probably too old tonight":D

If we Win: Well we had these injurys all year and that has attributed to our poor form and we just beat the renigning Premiers so how can we be classed as tankers!:p

Win Win all around( I hope we win crossing my fingers):)

Some of you guys need to take a deep breath and just calm down.

Woosha has been spot on with his eye for talent in the past, and he knows if kids are ready to take the step up to the AFL or not. Heck, he even got rid of Judd because he knew he was past it at age 24

If McNamara isn't in the side than Woosha has a very good reason.
Hansen has been very good in the WAFL, and in the past did very well at AFL level. He deserves the benefit of the doubt from the selection team.
Fletcher has been great all year, and Braun brings in 110% and 200 games experience. The kids need these guys to help shoulder the weight of the team.

We are going to loss Seabs at the end of the year, l know some ppl think thats good, but l beg to differ! he is lacking in confident lately BUT he has been a very good back-up ruckman in the past!

No matter what we do this year ppl are going to say we are tanking, it explains the 'sudden' drop from 5th to 15th! To most there 'has' to a reason why we are sooo bad! so tanking seem to be the answer people are excepting!

Now whether that is true or not, l must admit if it were would be nice to think OK there is some method to this madness, l dont think we would do it! otherwise, we may never know why we have had such a drop, just got to hope that we can rebuild as quickly as we dropped!

In the meantime playing kids and with snrs and mixing and matching is good idea, how else are you going to know what works well! clearly we aren't going to make the finals so why not just experiment and see what works and next year (is it here yet ;)) focus on putting the game plan and the right team on the field! and hopefully see wins because of it!

Whats one bad year if it means many more! (hoping its just the one bad year, then again l'll be use to it by next year should it cont:cool:)

Maybe I dont know how football works. But common sense tells you that 221 games and an average of 19 possessions this year, 152 games and 22 poss, and 166 games and 24 poss, as Braun, Kerr and Fletcher have, trumps 5 games and 15 possessions.

Remember that McNamara only came in because of Kerrs injury, he had a good game for a young player. His good game isn't at the same standard as an experienced midfielders good game IMO and he faded noticibly in the second half.

We dont know how well he trains, his attitude, if he is injured, if he followed the instructions given to him by the coaches in last weeks game etc. The coaches know these things though. You would hope they know a little bit more about their players than the people on BF who are critical of the team changes EVERY SINGLE WEEK NO MATTER WHAT THEY ARE!
