it was last year around October where i really emphasised that this youngster is the gun we need. yes i know that you can all say that he was likely to be picked up at number 1, 2 or maybe 3.

but for some stupid reason someone stated that we were likely to select Cale Morton, (perhaps because of the Morton trade)... and i kept to my word that Trent would become a much better player and the tigers needed him more then any other player in the draft.

i know its still early but i can see a huge career for Trent and good luck to him:thumbsu:

Cotchin > kreuzer

Cotch is a gun, he has shown so much allready and will be a star of the comp in the future. Richmond have picked up a gem here and a few of us carlton supporters really wanted him at the club (but are very happy with Kreuz);)

He is a class act

Cotch is definetly a gun there is so much to like about his football, his decision making and skill under preasure are absolutly first rate,

I cant wait till he gets some more fitness under his belt he is going to cause some serious headaches for opposition teams, and unlike our other guns over the last few years he wont just be tagged out of the game, as the opposition will have to worry about deledio, foley and cogs good times ahead mighty kong

i couldn't get to the game on sunday and just watched the replay I have decided that Jack Rewoldt is going to be a real star for us he is growing in leaps and bounds he did some great stuff on the weekend

cotch is disposal is good, cale morton is a turnover king, but has a much better engine than mitch.

I's great to see some players come in and look at home unlike alot of other players we have on the list that will amount to nothing.Do you hear me Oakley-Nicholls?

And how many players actually do that??

Judd and Selwood are the only two i can really think of.

Most players take years to develop, especially when your a bottom age kid who is extremely skinny.

He may well have a better engine that Mitch but he was gonzo last week against us in the last quarter. Getting around like a drunk sailor.

Thread title says it all...
Plenty of players are "guns" or become "elite", but not all have class.
From the first 5 minutes of Cotchins career you could see he has poise, skills, smarts & class.
Thank God Carlton have Hackland & needed a ruckman!

Glad we didn't get Cale Morton, not that I don't think the kid is gonna be a very good footballer but as the OP says, Cotchy is a class above;)

It may be very early in his career but I predict he will be a future captain and if Richmond is successful in the future, a Brownlow medal winner.

Won't be future captain as long as Deledio is at the club.

I have a feeling that Cotchin will be in a similar class to Voss. He just oozes absolute quality, hardness and class. A real footballer. With Axel, Lids and Cotch we really do have a future midfield with both star and leadership potential. Just hope the club can capitalise.

LOL Voss, Cotchin is one of my favourite players at Richmond. But lets hide our hard-ons till he plays 50 games at LEAST!

Most of us are trying to hold on for 10 minutes and you're suggesting a 2 year wait??!

Trade him. He doesn't fit into the side very well. Stands out too much.

It would be a shame to see another great footballer play finals only twice in 200 games - like Richo.

Show him some respect and offload him to a deserving club.
