Looking at the teams on the park this weekend (Rnd13) and seeing the injury list's theres no doubt that some of these teams should be better placed then they are so the Question is
WHO'S REALLY TANKING!
MELBOURNE
Addam Maric (groin) - test
Jack Grimes (back) - 2-3 weeks
Jared Rivers (abdominals) - 4-6 weeks
Brent Moloney (shoulder) - season -In best 22
Russell Robertson (achilles) - season - in best 22
2 Regular Players -Below us Why? They had 5Wins in 07
PORT ADELAIDE
Daniel Boyle (hamstring) - available
Paul Stewart (neck) - available
Brett Ebert (ankle) - test - Playing
Matt Lobbe (finger) - test

7 Regular Players All vital to our set up + 4 leave either Delist/Retire
Total 11 Players not playing from Last year! We had 15 wins in 07.
Players carrying injury's: Cox, Glass, Kerr, Waters, Hunter and Mckinley. total 17 players are we still tanking?
Essendon have a heavy injury toll as well and had a poor year in 07.
Out of all these teams we are the only ones getting the TANKING finger pointed at us WHY?
There's something you should know about our team- people hate us. We're the most successful, richest, arrogant club there is.
We got blasted by everyone when we were on top, and it's still going now we're near the bottom. Who cares what people think anyway, when we shoot up the ladder in the next couple of years it'll come up again, but the bottom line is that we will continue to be the greatest club in the history of professional sport.

Tanking will be the new term used for any team who has a fall from grace for the next ten years unfortunatly.

Deserves a shot. Has been playing well in the WAFL when he's not injured. Seriously, if he could just string 5 games together it would be great. He's not a completely awful player, was very important to us in 2006.

I don't see how you can justify Mitch Brown being in our best 22 potentially hell yes
but currently no
Even if we are tanking its a smart business decision really, will be our last chance to get good picks for poor performance for the next few years due to the to new teams being introduced
AFL should do something about it ASAP though.... lottery draft perhaps

I know MBB but I am just sick and tired of these F_____ING NOBS from over East attacking our club. There has been so many times this year alone that we have been crusified for nothing!
* Kerr going to melbourne to play football: How many times did he and the club say he was happy and wasn't going anywere and still for about 5 weeks they were saying its going to happen it the culture at West coast, Yet when the issue of Jonathon Brown or Josh Carr moving clubs the moment the player and club come out and say they were happy everyone shutup! Its Not WCE so its OK is the common practise everywere else.
* the drug scandle to Cousins: Hawthorn had 8 players recieving rehab but that was blocked and forgotten (and they wen't the only VIC club)but when ever the drug issue is brought up is the Eagles that are mentioned.
People forget that WCE were the first interstate club along with Brisbane to join the competition and without us (as the Bears dont exist) there really wouldn't have been a AFL competition!.
I just get a little pissed off sometimes and I for one would like to see a programe on TV that is PRO W.A footy( Eagles and Dockers) and I would like these people to Stick it right up EM -the Vics ( Quote Ted whitten)
Insted we get hammerd by the media, interstate and our own and we have a TV programe with NON WA supporters doing a show about them.
Its a bit like Eddie Everywhere commentating a Colliwobbles gome. Not Right!

Agree Eagle Ant - but on the flip side it is all the more sweeter when we win.
As far as tanking goes really it is hard to pick, the choices they make regarding who to rest is crazy, Cox and Glass have played most of the year carrying injuries - and at this point is there any major reason for them to be playing every game if they aren't 100%?
Meanwhile Kerr missed last week with what seemed to be a pretty minor injury, so really I don't know.
Saints look very dubious this weekend, but could they really be tanking with a finals shot still a very big possibility?

Um, well, ah, we didn't have any players test positive to any drug tests EVER yet we are the only club to be investigated and put on some stupid notice thing the AFL dreamt up and then theres the, nah stop me there if I start I won't finish. Let's just leave it at;

:thumbsu: Try living here and going for eagles! and im melbourne breed! its sooo bias, l remember over the years reading articles after we had a bad game, there was no holding back, but then you'd read an article after we had a good win, well instead of how good we did, it was how bad the other VIC team did and this was why blah blah blah! l read The Western Australian on line to get some friendly stories!!
Even at games people just won't except its the A FL not V!! without interstate teams the competition was dying off, they need the interstate clubs money! what they didn't count on was us being soo good, soo quickly!
You forgot also recently Franklins thing, again this same club 'sweep' the situation under the carpet, BUT if that was an eagle player it would have been everywhere until something was done! Even over the years things like the divak, and Fevola incidents, again nothing came of their bad behaviour.
In general its one rule for interstate clubs (except one, we should know who im referring too there!), and one rule for the VIC clubs! unfortunately that isn't going to change!

I seem to recall that in the past when fit he's been the teams lucky charm, what was it we win 90% of our games when he was playing.
So now he starts the season underdone, pulls another hammie or two, we rest him, make him play several games in the WAFL, hopefully get his body right and select him and we'r tanking if we play him.:confused:

To be fair "Eagle Ant" the speculation about Kerr WILL continue, simply because of what happenned with Judd. (Remember how he said he didn't want to live anywhere but Claremont or whatever ?)The fact that Kerr is still under contract for next season will make no diference to the speculators ! Maybe it is time for the Eagles to REALLY show the doubters what "tanking" really means ! Rest Glass and Cox for the rest of the season (send them for operations if they are needed), leave people on opponents in matches even when they are getting thrashed (so that they can "learn from the experience") and , if we are actually in a position to win a match, pull our best players off the field in the last quarter for a "rest" !

Collinwood Played 13 games- 7 wins 6 losses, Good right here is the catch. Games interstate 1 - wins 0.
Rounds left -9 games interstate left- 3. Syd at ANZ (coll dont play at the SCG to much of an advantage for Syd) Port at AAMI and Freo at Subi.
And By the way how many flags have the Colliwobbles won since 1987.
