There is talk on the main board about lucas and the dons having negotiation trouble. Now i am sure they will work it out and he will resign and be a Don for life but...
As a hypothetical if he didnt should we make a play for Lucas or someone similar so that he can take up the slack while the likes of Hoffx2 and Lobbe have a chance to develop?
Unless we get him for next to nothing, then no.

If we have any currency left with Clarko, Dimma, Pelchen and the rest of the old boys down there, certainly - besides which, they owe us after we were quite generous a couple of tradeweeks ago.

He is still owed a slab by every Port supporter for his last quarter against WCE in Rd 22, which meant we got 2nd spot and a home final. Lucas wouldn't never be fit to play for us he had 300,000 slabs to consume.

While it felt good at the time I really wonder where we would be now without his effort, perhaps no 119 point loss and GF hangover.

I reckon Scot Lucas is a terrific footballer. Doesn't get enough credit IMO. If we were a serious chance of a flag next year I'd trade for him. He's got a couple of good years left in him and fills an area of glaring need. What could we spare though.

If we can get him in the PSD or for Damon White/Nathan Lonie/Toby Thurstans, not with a draft pick, then yes, if not then no.

A couple of years ago perhaps, but as we have seen with Lade once you get to a certain age good form can drop off pretty quickly.
