So who's heading up to Darwin next week for the Port game?

After the Collingwood game this Sunday night im straight to the airport for a 10pm flight up to Darwin. Im spending a week with my GF and family traveling around NT before heading to the Dogs/Port game saturday night.

Staying in the Holiday Inn when in Darwin. That's where the doggies stayed last time I was up there (2006).

So who else is making the trip?

Not going but lived there for a while, plenty to do around Darwin and the hour trip to Litchfield is great (heaps better than Kakadu), plenty of waterfalls to swim in, a bit cold this time of year but does keep the snapping handbags away (crocs)

Yeah...I am heading up to Darwin. Have been the past 2 years and rate it as the best place to watch footy. Where else can you watch an AFL match, stand under the scoreboard and drink VB cans....love it. Just like the old days at the barkly street end...only 15 degrees warmer.

I'm heading up on Wednesday night with the old man. Neither of us have been there before so should be great.

Obviously we are gonna do some sightseeing, but we're also going to the Bulldogs run BBQ thing on the Friday night at the Trailer Boat Club and probably to the supporters group function after the game. Hopefully will be able to catch up with some fellow Doggies supporters there (I hardly know any living in country Vic!).

Heading up to Darwin on Wednesday. Does anyone know when the Dogs make the trip and if there will be any open training sessions to go to. Also, any tips on good day trips around Darwin would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey Garf.....The boys are not all travelling together. There are a few going up early for school clinics but most of them are going up Thursday. They are all flying back together on Sunday at 10am. They usually have an open training session on Frdiay afternoon about 4pm.

Cheers Ozelad...is that open session usually at the stadium?

Lived up there for a couple of years.

Litchfield National Park 80 KM south is well worth the trip. Great spot.Katherine Gorge 300 KM south if you want the drive.Casino is a great day / night trip also.:)

Can't get up to the game but off to Canberra when we go there.

beer not warm, would cause major and unstoppable riot. That is just not acceptable here.

on things to do

Mindil markets - thurs night - do not miss. I'm serious DO NOT MISS

Litchfield

Crocodylus - near the pig pen (police hq)

Jumping Croc Cruise - 60kms SE

Fish Feeding - in the city centre really

TIO stadium is open easy to get into.

Mitchell St, after the game, plenty of places to eat, drink and be merry, closes at 4am tho.

Casino 24hrs, if you really need to donate money to an already rich corp. Doing lots of work atm so its a bit of a mess.

If anyone wants further info, PM me. I might even give u my phone number. I live in the centre of town so nightlife is a bit of a specialty. Born here, so in and outs of most things, inbuilt.

Unfortunately have a bus trip this weekend to play so this week's no go, looking to go to the R20 Brisbane game though.

So would you recommend Crocodylus over the Territory Wildlife Park if you were only gonna visit one?

Time dependent really.

Crocodylus is really close, 10 mins (max) from the airport/TIO Stadium and you can cover the relevant bits in 2hrs max. TWP about an hour out and takes much more time to visit, at least half a day.

So if you've got 6 hrs or so, TWP, 2 hrs, Crocodylus.

Personal opinion follows.

Jumping Crocs better than both if u want to see Crocs.
