View Full Version : Cox NEEDS to be rested for a few weeks.

Watching the game tonight, he's well and truely struggling, limping at times.

I don't see anything but benefit by resting him for a few rounds.

Benefit 1: Play Seaby into form
Mark Seaby is playing like, as Big Man puts it, a marshmellow.
He's usually stood up when he's been the #1 ruckman (circa 2006 v Geelong)

The benefits from this are obvious; if Seaby's in form then Cox can rest more, whether that be in parts of game or for whole games.

Benefit 2: Increase potential trade value
With whispers that he wants to head somewhere else to step out of Cox's shadow, playing him into form would be a perfect way to maximise what we get for him.

Benefit 3: Come back potentially in better shape
He's really quite obviously in a lot of discomfort, I mean, he barely trains during the week. Whilst they have said it won't get any worse by playing on, it may feel a bit better if he were to take a few rounds off.
Alternatively, we could let him have surgery early and get him right for next season. This way he'd have a full preseason to prepare himself for 2009 where we'll probably be more competitive.

Agree. I see no reason to play Cox if he's injured. Seaby needs game time, and we're losing anyway...

By Bay13 trolls and the Victorian media?
Not like they haven't already thrown their accusations, so it'd be old news.

Couldn't agree more, what in the hell is the point of playing him so injured when there isn't much to gain at all (since we're crap)? The same can go for Glass, he is also looking very ordinary atm.

They need to be rested, why arnt they? Well I dont know but everyone can see they need to be.

And Walls is giving me the shits tonight, stop repeating yourself you tool :thumbsd:

Bloke can't be that badly injured. 25 touches, 4 marks, 19 hit outs and 1 goal.

But he's that good he can mask it... a little that is, he really is injured and needs a break.

Can only imagine how good he'd be when not injured, not that it would make that much difference though considering how crap most the rest are.

wow someone upstairs truely hates my dream team. But in terms of the eagles, cox needs a rest. Give Seaby a go as number one, Move lynch up the ground allowing us to give Cones another go. Increase seaby's trade value and prove to other clubs that he can be 1st ruck.

get him and Glass out. Plain and simple. Idiots can say we are tanking - I don't care. If Melbourne start to look like they are going to grab a win put Cox and Glass back in so that we can try and remain wooden spoon free but at the end of the day if we lose, we lose. Can't blame anyone but ourselves - we've got 40 other players on the list.
