Wojaks dash through the middle throughout that first quarter is one of the reasons why I argue he should remain. He was superb, although its a shame he didn't kick that goal when he charged from the centre bounce :P

We all know the old Geelong would go to sleep right about know, and thats the beauty of this team we have now.... i dont have to worry about the old fade outs that used to haunt us.
And how 'bout Stevie J's effort, dare i say it "checkside kick, nonchelant"! :thumbsu:

Don't think we are 100% switched on actually. West Coast are deplorable. Vintage Johnson.

I'm not in Adelaide, but we get their feed. Shocking games on this weekend. Sucks that this Adelaide game is actually the Fox feed being broadcast on 10, because that means we can't even watch the Cats on Fox. Torrents it is!
More like what a half! Loving this.

Swap you eight or so goals in return for Peter Matera in the 92 GF.

Imagine what the score would be if the umpires weren't reaming us.
I usually don't bother with the umpires, but from where i'm sitting we're getting a pretty rough run.
Not often you see a team 10 goals down at half-time (and consistently second to the ball), yet have a 12-5 free kick advantage.
That aside, i'm obviously very happy with our performance.
Hopefully we can continue playing with the same intensity in the second half.

Agreed. I'm glad other Cats fans have picked up on this.
Yes. We are slaughtering them and up by 10 Goals...but the umpiring HAS BEEN A JOKE...:thumbsd::thumbsd:

They must be trying to even it up.... Lonners non-mark followed by two WC marks where they hardly held it, that HTB decision where there was no chance of getting it out.... ah well, dont need the maggots tonight!

The things is, as well as the umps being against us we also are going a bit easy on them, could easily be up 80.
The way Gary just stole the ball on the wing then later on strolling int o goal summed it up:)
Let's win by 100+

Exactly my thoughts. I thought we had some good calls in the first 10 minutes and except for Chappy's too high and resulting goal, it's been in the Weagles favour since then. Even though we're 10 goals up, it's still p*ssing me off.

Umpiring in general play hasn't been too bad, but where they are usually prepared to pay the most minor infringment on a player's arms they refuse to with Geelong.
1st half felt like we were running at 80%. Picked it up now.

25.13.163...
Does that score sound familiar?
Why is it our forward line goes to crap when we're so far in front pretty much whenever we're up a lot?
I guess I expect too much but the ball has been coming out of our forward 50 with relative ease this quarter.

Lol, not that anymore...

Hahaha, at the report of Tom Harley on the bench, chatting to the fans.. will get an autograph to one soon. :thumbsu:

Three times I have tried to reply in this thread but I don't know what to say, so i'll just say i'm speechless. Amazing effort, unlike those 2 pretenders who played on friday that was just great to watch.

Is that our record margin against the eagles?

22 Jun 2008, 00:34
The only worry I could have is "are we peaking too early?" but from what I saw last year - I don't think so.
I have never seen Geeloong this good....West Coast were crap but the cats were just brilliant

pity we couldn't put up a good show so you guys could show your full skills.
a bit like a training run tonight - and i think you guys can play a lot better still
we made the night deplorable
f&*^ i don't want the spoon
Harry Taylor was so damn good for a rookie it was not funny.
He's our 'Selwood' type pickup for 2008.

22 Jun 2008, 00:51
Did anyone else have to double check in the first qtr at Harry Taylors rebounding out of defensive 50 that is wasn't one M Scarlett, it was only a few passages of play but it was early on when it was quite an intense game and the kid showed he was there to really step up. I don't want to check statistics right now on how he played, I was just really wrapped that he trusted his boot not just for that goal but I thought he looked to create by foot more than moving the ball by hand tonight...
Only a very small part of tonights game I know and it's not a massive step but a couple of small steps in the next month for Harry and it becomes even scarier just how much depth we have.
Just back from the game, we were awful.
You guys were a pleasure to watch, all round team effort and utter brilliance by Ablett.
Since the inception of the AFL there have only been a few sides of legendary ability. Brisbane for certain, and I think Geelong are at least equal to them. I am proud to have seen such a team in real life.
You deserve the flag already.
Congrats on that tonight, it was good to watch a team up and running like that....Unfortunately for me it wasn't the eagles though......
On another note KUDOS to Cam Mooney for his acknowledgment of Will Schofield's effort late in the last quarter where he smothered a shot at goal. He firstly applauded the kid and when Geelong eventually scored walked over to him with a few words of advise and a pat on the back. Great sportsmanship :thumbsu:
Congrats :thumbsu:
Unbelievable game by you guys.
Good Luck for the rest of the season.
And enjoy every moment of it.
Cheers :thumbsu:

Great game to watch the cats at there best couldnt find a bad player.
Lings tagging on Kerr, Harls marks in defence, Maxy and Dashers toughness (spesh that hit on Linga, maxy got him a good one) Kelly's first half was great and finished with a goal in the last. Loved Jimmy and Gazza's goals too. Cam and Johnno awesome too, And the way Bomber was calm enough to eat a sandwich great to see, Well done to the boys!!!:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

I was impressed by that as well. Good of Cam to acknowledge him, but truly inspiring that Schofield never gave up on getting to that ball. I'm sure the scorekeepers had already added the goal to the tally before he performed that superb smother:thumbsu:

Bit hard to show how good you are when you're on the pine for a big chunk of the night. 21 possessions, 4 tackles and a goal not good enough for you?

No no no, Moons is worse than the Antichrist, just ask North fans.;)to be fair, they might just remember him from his spell there.
reminds me of the game against them a couple of weeks ago - some spud in the crowd was up giving ottens shit: "brad ottens? he was shit when he was at richmond!"
minutes later big cam kicks his seventh which sealed it for us, so i took the opportunity to scream out "cam mooney? he was shit when he was at north melbourne!"

Bones not being able to hit a target and Selwood being a dime a dozen tagger.
And that took all of 3 seconds to find.
On your way, hypocrite.

What impressed me most was when we were 100 points up Rooke and Selwood were throwing themselves at contests like ragdolls:thumbsu:
oh yeah and our skill level and chemistry was sensational.
One thing that impressed me last night was Blakey's field kicking. He's not the best looking kick in the team, but he did pinpoint quite a few passes to leading forwards. :thumbsu:

Blake is a beautiful kick - he seems to have some distance and always kicks to advantage around the ground. If he can improve his contested marking he could be a better player than Ottens in terms of his ability to drift forward and add a scoring option.
Lingy was another one who went in hard all game.
It probably sounds a bit funny to say but I liked what I saw of some of the young Eagles too. I thought the umpiring was pretty good all night too.
