I havent wanted to see Pettigrew for the last 18 months - I feel kinda vindicated after today. When was the last time anyone said "Gee Pettigrew played a great game"? - 2006? I also dont want see any more of Lonie, White, Bentley and Thurstans.

A couple of seasons back when we played the Bulldogs in Darwin. Pettigrew went up forward, booted 4 in a quarter and completely dominated.

He's a natural forward being made to play a role in our side he's probably not best suited to.

I would like to see:

Willits / Cockshell (one of)
Stewart (straight back in)
Thomson
De Luca

Out:
Lade (U have been great big fella but...)
Wilson (Get some fitness up in the SANFL or see above)
Peter Burgoyne (either out or restricted to bursts in the midfield)
Boak (a few games in the SANFL working on some things wouldn't hurt)

Not interested in seeing Lonie, White I'm undecided on

Swap Willits for Salter and you've pretty much posted my list. I don't rate Willits at all and I don't think he'll ever be a good player.

I'd only like to see White if he's stationed in defensive 50. If he fails there and there's no trade he should be let go.

Oops i forgot Salter, I have added him to my list. FWIW I dont think Willits will make it but I think he deserves a crack and to be honest I would just like to see soemone in a port guernsey throw his weight around.

On Pearce I would have agreed with lightning up til this week but he showed some signs today that he is learning and improving. Some improved chasing and tackling was a positive from mine. Snr and Jnr replaced him on the too lazy/soft/outside list as of this week.

players that can actually play
etc.

Damon White hasn't even played this year. Given Westhoff and Lade's ordinary form and given we had signed White to a pretty good 3 year contract I'd like to see him given a go.

Danyle Pearce should be dropped immediately. Get him back to the SANFL to get some form because he's been woeful in the AFL this season. There was a passage of play in the 3rd quarter today that just about summed up Pearce's season. He thought he could elude Richmond's Jordan McMahon, one of the quickest players in the AFL, and McMahon ran him down and got him holding-the-ball. I have lost all patience with Pearce.

LOL thats so funny. There is no way McMahon is one of the quickest in the afl...Pearce was just to slow in evading him. Agree with you about Pearce though...definitely not showing same form as in previous years. Rodan Runner has been a revelation for your club since leaving ours...its good to see that he is doing so well.

I would like to see Pearce attack the ball/contest much harder than what he has been doing a lot of times this year. Same can be said for a few other players - don't wait for the ball to come to you... attack it.. get back to basics.. you don't lose your ability to play football overnight, but you can lose confidence ... a lot of players in our side are playing with little to no confidence at the moment.. that's one of the problems but also when you lose so many close games this year that's exactly what happens players start to doubt themselves ... think back to Chads comments when we got beat a few weeks ago... he said 'oh no, not again' after the loss to Carlton (i think it was)... if our coaches can some belief back into the playing group then not all has been lost.

I want to see Shaun Burgoyne's defensive efforts from 2004/05

Yesterday I saw him chase a player that got away from him... I think people forget just how many run down tackles he made in 04/05, which helped make him my favourite player. He just doesn't do it anymore

And on what grounds does this Richmond supporter offer such uncalled for and pompous ridicule?

Here's a clue for you. Wallace recruited McMahon for one of the below reasons -

A. His size and strength
B. His fearless hard-ball winning ability
C. His precision kicking over a short or long distance
D. His excellent goal-sense and goalkicking ability
E. His blistering speed

The answer is of course E. The extremely quick McMahon was recruited to keep up with elusive opposition small forwards and provide to Richmond with much-needed dash and drive out of defence. McMahon's speed is about his only footballing asset.

wats appalling is the fact he still gets a guernsey come thursday selection, the outside front running seagul has had no impact in any of our matches in the last 12 months, he has a gold pass that needs to be revoked so he can get real with himself and stop resting on his prior acolade

While the aboriginal sub-culture within the club has served us well in the past, predominately as we had the great man Wangas as the role model, I really think that the way Junior and PB are approaching their football this year is having a flow on effect on Pearce. These guys should be leading by example in regards to defensive pressure / 1%ers / effort, then perhaps Pearce would follow suit.

Of course the same can be said of the leadership team as a whole.

From what I've seen this year, both AFL and SANFL. the young guys who, barring injury or suspension, that should be in each team for the remainder of the year are:
Gray
Boak
Thomas
Carlisle
Stewart

Guys who need to be played depending on matchups/omissions
Deluca
Cockshell
Willits
Thomson
Logan

Guys who have had their chances
White
Thurstans
Pearce

Seniors that need a wake up call
P Burg
B Lade
Pettigrew

Guys on the trade table
Surjan - as much as it hurts me to say.

I also think that it was a great move elevating Chaplin, Salopek and Motlop to the leadership group. I thought the three of them came to play yesterday and showed what they have to offer. (Shame about Sal's achilles.)

Pearcey is our leading inside fifty and had four 1%'s yesterday. He was third in the AFL for into fifties last year... be more objective. I saw him run from the middle of the field to shepherd for Lade which resulted in a kick to Tredders and a goal, while others just stood. He also ran the side of the oval shepherding for Shaun as well... amongst other things he did well.Too many judge him too harshly and just choose to ignore the good things he does but focus on the bad. I saw many of our players make basic mistakes but some players have gold passes on these sites while others are crucified.

Who (in order)
Cockshell
Bentley
Williams
White
Willits
Deluca

I Want these 5 players specifically to be given a go to be given a chance to show if they can make it at AFL level. All are on the chopping block and I think they should be given the opportunity to show themselves at AFL level. White and Bentley have shown bits, but the other three havent been given much chance. Whilst Williams might get another year anyway, he should be given a shot.

Who I want to see more of:
Westhoff
Thomson
Stewart

Who should debut for a taste:
Salter
M Motlop
Farmer

Players who should be either moved, rested, or dropped for an amount of time (not whole year):
Pettigrew
P Burgoyne
S Burgoyne
Lade
Pearce
Wilson

What I want to see:
A traditional forward line (3 talls, 3 smalls)
Tredrea given the support he deserves
Kicks to contests to our tall forwards
Support for our midfielders/defenders (blocks, shepherds)
Players who look and crave the team things instead of looking for the recieve
Some blood thirsty footballers
Some variety in the coaches box

The problem i have with pearce is that for all the good that he does, it comes in patches. If he could lay those kind of shepards and be accountable with his opponent, he'd be far more valuable to the team.

Pearce has been better than some people give him credit for since he came back into the side...but his problem is like what Logan used to be. For every noticeably good thing he does, he'll do something noticeably bad which also sticks in your mind.

Logan, over the past 6 weeks or so has really cut out those noticeably bad things out of his game. Id love for Pearce to do similar.

Dropping him as your requested isn't going to help him though. Playing more at this level will.,

I am not convinced with Logan. He is a working man's trier but never going to be right up there, he reminds me of a jack russel, running around, jumping, ethusiastic, but not thinking his way through things eg lacks composure.

Lower on the other hand, appears to have the hardness and composure but is lacking enough ball collecting skills at the moment.

Yep. Those missed tackles yesterday have been a feature of his footy since he went into the midfield.

How many run-down tackles have Pearce and the Burgoynes executed in the last 2 years? Maybe their speed is only uni-directional.

I've watched the first part of yesterday's game again and I'd swear Logan was on Mitch Morton for his first three goals. Made up a bit for it late with some courageous acts and two good goals, but his lack of awareness and leg speed were exploited in defence yesterday.

Pearce, the new Thurstans!
The world needs a scape goat.
I honestly think he has been one of our better permorners and is atleast some one who provides some run and some options to our defenders when kicking in or when they are in trouble. The lack of presenting options from our midfield is sometimes mind boggling.

I do not want to see Lonie play for us. Frankly, if there is any truth to the rumoured temper tantrum at his GF non selection last year, I am staggered that he has even been listed as an emergency...

I do want to see guys earn their spots, so I am a bit reluctant to say "I want to see so and so play", because so and so must earn that spot, and not be given it just because we are 4-9 and finals are off the radar.

That said, I would like to see a few of the guys who must be in the potential trade/delist list stand up and earn a shot to prove themselves worthy of retention. This list must, at this stage, include White, Willits, Cockshell and Bentley. And even though I feel they have another years grace, I would also like to see both Giles and DeLuca earn some serious game time.

I am a huge fan of Logan but i dont think he is a natural defender. He seems lost when there is an aerial contest. I think he is much better as a hard running midfielder or even a defensive minded forward.

Ins
Deluca - Lade
Salter - C.Cornes
Willits - as a seccond tall to foil with Tredrea
Farmer - Wilson
Thomson - Kane... S.Burgoyne or Sal (as injured now)
M Motlop - Peter
Stewart - Not fussed if we see him again or not, we have seen what he offers, put him on ice, get him in the gym and make him an Andrew Embley type!
Bentley - Pearce maybe
Krakour - find him a posission...

I would also like to see giles at some stage this year, His form has been alright since being back in the league side...
