After that thumping win maybe we should acknowledge Bomber and the training program this season. There's been a lot of threads about how the team is off form and all sorts of complaints even though we had only dropped one game. But Bomber had said that because of the late end to the 07 season, and the amount of footy played, that we were effectively starting our pre-season late, and would come in to form later. Spot on.
He's got about 26 players priming them selves for a run at the finals and securing a top 2 finish.
I'm not going to query the selection process again - we should trust the blokes that know best!

Agreed. Bomber has done a fantastic job and we shouldn't really complain about selection drama's, yes even of Brynes.

They are well in front of where I thought they'd be and I'm thinking the leg workups which Jumpin Jack was talking about was probably true. It's ok to have a different opinion on that, however where we have gone and where the pies have is two different directions.

Thanks Bomber, and all the coaches for that matter, for a great effort thus far.

Indeed.

The only aberration this year was the loss against Collingwood . My information is that for a few weeks beforehand Bomber and Co put the team through an extremely intense schedule to springboard them for the balance of the year...and the finals.... , and as a result they were spent before they ran on the ground . Right now they look cherry ripe I reckon.

Absolutely! As a Cats fan from the late 70's, i have seen the likes of Carlton, hawthorn, North Melbourne, Essendon, West Coast and Brisbane always look so professional, machine like and focussed on winning. Geelong until the last magic 33 weeks always just seemed a little shy of the mark compared to the big clubs.

Not any more. The vision that Costa, Cook and Thompson revealed from their plan in 1999 is now in fruition. It really is an experience as a fan of great joy and satisfaction as the club we all love is now setting benchmarks, in recruiting, business, and most importantly in player management and welfare. In all honesty, can anyone imagine a side in years gone by being without the best ruckman and best C.H.B, in Ottens and Egan, for virtually all the year up until a couple of weeks ago for Ottens, and yet we sit 12-1? What magnificent development and recruiting that has been done in this past 7-8 years.

Harry Taylor has come in cold from the WAFL to fulfil a solid role for us at C.H.B, youngsters in Gamble, Varcoe, Mumford and Prismall have gained a solid grounding, and now look ready to step into the team's structure in the event of injuries. Thompson has stuck with his process, and with the experts brought in after the Bortollacci fitness fiasco, the side has not looked back.

Geelong has won now 31 of 33 games, a magnificent effort, and one which would have few peers in all of footy history. Certainly, us fans are witnessing something that only supporters of the early 50's could hark back to. And it feels great!!!
