gday

first i will say great effort , considering collingwood were coming off a shock loss to the blues , and they came out hard and firing on all cylinders against us, so to whether the storm and rise to the challenge and come away with the win was great !:thumbsu:

but i am just a bit comcerned with a few brain fades - namely giving away 2 stupid 50 metre penalties and brian lake giving the ball up so stupidly in the last quarter with another brain fade ( Rodney eade was asked about this incident after the game and he said that he was tearing his hair out )

and a few other silly incidences during the game that resulted in turnovers and easy goals - i think one that comes to mind was a silly handpass from farren ray early in the game instead of just kicking the ball that resulted in another pies goal

all i am saying is come september, we cant afford brain fades and giving up easy goals.... No doubt, it will bite us in the bum big time if we arent careful !!

I think the way Rocket is trying to get them to play is to take risks, move the ball on quickly to give our forwards the best chance. By playing this style there is bound to be some turnovers, but that is the "risk" you take, and i think rocket is happy that the ball will occasionally get turned over if we are kicking goals at the other end.

Having said that there are some silly ones that are inexcusable, like the Lake one.

Yes we could've done without those fifties [and Brian's muckup] but they were pretty soft.

The 50's were very soft, not really a dogs brain fade, more of an umpires brain fade. Lake's brain fades were a shockers tho, he got 2 50's and stuffed them both. Lake always scares me when he's outside the 50m arc. He seems to leave his brain on the backline.

spot on, griffen made three or four errors trying to do this in the first quarter, still had the stones to keep doing it later in the game when we needed the lines broke
