Ryan Hargrave was given a lot of s__t at the beginning of the year by some posters but we all have to agree he is having an outstanding season as today he took another scalp in Medhurst and kept him to 1 goal who is there leading goal scorer. He has beaten Farmer and other small forwards this year as this is the right position for him and then he runs off them and strides up the wing. Well done shaggy keep up the great work.

Agree. Shaggy has been great this year. He is now getting a much more suitable match up. I was impressed tonight with his closing speed that enabled him to spoil so many times.

The area he needs to improve in, is to stamp out the stupid little things out of his game (i.e. today that stupid 50m he gave away to medhurst, yes it was soft, but why push him when he has already taken the mark and was falling over anyway).

Agreed. He's not punching above his weight any more, and is playing with great confidence.
For probably the first time in his career he's up against guys he's perfect for. An accomplished defender.

career best form!!

I've always said if you don't notice Shag then he's probably been the best defender on the park. I doubt I've noticed him more than a handful of times all year. He is now punching in his own weight division and taking scalp after scalp.

I was a big detractor early in his career as he was lazy and had poor application, but he has stepped up this year and doesn't get beaten very often by forwards who are his own size..

Mind you, when he gave away the 50 I was gonna jump the fence and bottle him...:D

Not getting the second forward helps. Having his best season by a country mile

always right

Having a great season and is possibly the most underrated kick in our side. Penetrating and almost always hits a target.

super season , i thought he would be a perfect matchup on Medhurst - he is one of many who are in " career best form " - contributing to our great start and essentially part of a team with no real weaknesses across the ground.

Finally getting match-ups that suit him and isn't getting the second best forward, and we are reaping the results because of that. Just needs to cut out the brainfades.
