I wonder how much say the man of the moment had in the chooisng of the team?

Have we seen the end of Eagleton?

There are a few teams around that would take him, wouldnt there? Richmond :D ?

Id take a 2nd round pick, and thank them kindly.

What am I thinking?!?!? Eagleton will go to Sydney with his mate wallace, of course....far be it from Wallace to admit he made a mistake, so he will have to trade for Eagleton in order to proove himself correct.

Swans, second round pick should be pick 20? :)

In terms of Werribee eligibility, if you've played one game for Werribee you're eligible this week.

After this week, if you've played 6 games for Werribee you're eleigible.

Birss, Eagleton can play this week. After that, I don't think Birss can but Eagleton may squeak in?

Stefoid, for Eagleton I would swap him for a slab of beer(light),a set of steak knives or even a couple of used Sherrins.

Well, Bowdo is an interesting one, isnt it? Some people were jumping up and down when he got 3 seconds game time the other week, so you would think that the chance is now to vindicate himself and get some sort of revenge on Wallace by playing a blinder .

Personally I would have dragged him for his lazy effort, but not for the rest of the game. Harro didnt get dragged for his lazy effort trying to pick up a bad Grant pass that time...

Come on Bowdo, how much more incentive to play a good game do you need!!!???

Can some-one who knows more about football than me (casting a wide net here) explain team balance to me.

I assume mcGuinness is not an on-baller and neither are Harrison and Bowden. We got killed out of the centre and at stoppages last week, drop two on-ballers (ok one and a half to you Eagleton haters) and bring none in.

To me this is crazy. The remaining on-ballers will be stuffed by half time.

do the selections make sense to anyone else?

I should have added that i think the problem is greatly compounded with West out of the side.

(I did really forget that - not trying to get the posts up or anything)

Maybe Rhodes is going to play Brown and Johno on the ball instead of FF and CHF?

Haveing Eagleton in the centre last week didn't help. At stages of the Carlton game, at the centre bounce we had Eagleton, Garlick and Dimma, that was the slowest midfield we have had for a while.

Do you think the inclusions have addressed the other problem last week of not being hard at the ball?

You make some good points. After being stuck up forward for so long will Brown and Johhno have the petrol tickets needed.

as for being hard at the ball, with the little I have seen of bowden i am not sure, but i dont see it as one of his strengths. I may be wrong. And at this stage of his development I don't think Mcguinness will crash through much either.

Rhode is just reclaiming the balance that had gone too far in one direction.

We already have Murphy, Garlick, Smith, Johnson, Hahn, Gilbee, Giansiracusa, Power, Brown, McMahon, Dimattina and Alvey to rotate through 5 midfield positions plus half-back and the forward line.

Grant, Croft, Harrison and Kretiuk will take Rocca, Tarrant, Fraser and Molloy.

That leaves Bandy, Penny, Bowden and McGuinness as forwards. That is hardly too top heavy.

What's wrong with Westy? It's not like him to miss so many games. Not more personal probs I hope.

I just heard on the radio that Penny and Kretta are out. Penny has an injured ankle and Kretta is out cos of illness in the family. I went to training today and Penny went off early...i didn't see him get injured though so he may have already done his ankle. Not sure who will come in as out of the emergencies only Eagle was there...I didn't see Birss or Wiggens. West was there so maybe he might play, but personally i don't think we should risk it as if he gets another knock in the ribs he could do some damage.

Herald-Sun website says penny has hurt his ankle and won't play. Says kretta has illness in family but doesn't say whether he will play or not.

Starting to look even shorter down back.......

As West wasn't named as an emergency, he can't play without copping a fine. Won't happen.

Grant, Croft, Harrison down back will be OK. I'm more concerned about the forward line.

Patrick Wiggins come on down!
