View Full Version : Keating and Bradshaw?

Keating has been playing in the 2s, and Bradshaw has been in and out of the Lions firsts more than a (better not draw the ire of the moderators).
Perhaps both would like a change of team, and the Lions must surely have some salary cap pressure.
Should we chase them, and what do you think the Lions would want?

I dunno about that idea. keating is a ruckman who could rest forward but we already have Darce & DB so i dont think he would be worth it. And Bradshaw well for some reason he reminds me of Huddo. Kicks a bag every now and then but in between is pretty useless, cant tackle, doesnt chase and not much body strength.
I was actually eyeing off a guy a bit further South. Scott Stevens of the Swans is a young bloke who looks like he can play but won't get much of a go with Hall, and to a lesser extent O'Loughlin and Goodes roaming in the forward line. He's 192 cm and only 20 yrs old and cant get a game. Could we swap him for Plough's love-child (Eagleton) once TW gets to the Swans?
Hows he been going at Port - has Chops or anyone seen him play?

Don't remember much on Port except Felatio Filandarer, Anstey, the Albetts, Sunquist(?), Anthony Aloi and Gerard Bennett.
Like Werribee they have a number of good non afl players.
My mate is a big Port Melb and Swans fan. Will speak to him about Scott Stevens!

Thanks Chops. i have emailed my Swans mates to ask them. Also asked em about Rocket Eade and gave them the lowdown on Plough. Told them to expect Eagleton on their list next year. :D
Got a reply back already!
My mate wrote:
Yeah Scotty Stevens is pretty good but still a bit light - he kicked 6
for Port Melbourne last weekend. He is a very good kick too - accurate
and fairly long. If the guy is really keen he can go to Port tomorrow or just watch the ABC at 1PM tomorrow and he will see no 16 kick a few!

Don't you think having a decent tap ruckman would be useful? I'd like to see Keating in the ruck, and using Darcy as a giant rover. Dunno if Bandy is that useful as a ruckman.

Agreed, I reckon he is impressive, but can't see the Swans parting with him. To quote Chops, we'd be lucky to get a set of steak knives for Eagleton.

I think Bandy is alright round the ground tapping. Not much good in the middle for the bounce though. I certainly agree Darce & DB could improve their tap work but I dont reckon Keating is the answer.

Your probably right but if Plough is coaching up there you never know. I'd be happy to give up a Round 2 draft pick for him if that interested the Swans. Wouldn't want to give away any of the kids though.

I think Bradshaw would be a good get and would be capable of being a 50-60 goal full forward. Keating would be alright as he is a good tap ruckman, but he is very injury prone.
The Brisbane guy I would really like is Tim Notting, like Bradshaw and Keating he is in and out of the side but IMO he would be a great pick up as he is big enough for a key position and has shown he is mobile and quick enough to play all over the ground, he is a big man but often plays on the wing for the Lions

I'm not a wrap for either....if I had to target some Brisbane players I would go for: Morrison, Copeland, Notting or McGrath.
Of course the club has already said it wont be a player during the trade period however, you just never know.

We have salary cap pressure too. We have to stay at 92.5%.
We need something in reserve because there will be a few players up for renewal at the end of 2003.
Bradshaw would be handy though.
