For anyone that's interested in reading his article that appears monthly in our local paper, this is the latest on Wednesday........The article is called
Young at Heart by Clinton Young...
OUR loss to North Melbourne was a bit disappointing for the team. We set ourselves for a big game but just could not get past the Roos.
We had a few players out including Chance Bateman and Shane Crawford which meant I had the unusual task of being tagged. Usually the opposition don't give me that level of coverage but with other running players out I became a focus.
It was a different experience and 1 struggled to get into the game. North Melbourne's Leigh Harding was my tagger and he made it hard for me. It was a real learning experience and I will be speaking to the coaches about how I can do better against a tag in future.
Despite the loss everything is going well at the club. We face West Coast on Friday night and we are all looking forward to it.
We have a week off after that and everyone is looking forward to a break because we have some tough games in the second half of the year. I haven't decided v,rather to go home, stay in Melbourne or take a holiday somewhere.
In my first few seasons we
lost a lot of games but as we have improved we have got a lot more media attention. This season we have only lost two games and the off-field situation has been a massive learning experience. We have to be careful with everything we do and say. It creates a lot of extra pressure on us as players but it is just something you have to deal with.
I heard Minyip-Murtoa had a big win at the weekend. I get the run-down from family and friends every week and it is f'. weird not to be there playing for the club. It is great to hear they won, especially since we had a loss.
Hope this is of interest to some of you..:)
