What a player this man mountain will be. For those tools out there that said we made a mistake taking Jarryd at 2, stick that in your pipe and smoke it. Will kick 70 + this year. Not bad for a second fiddle to Mt Franklin.
6 goals an about 4 goal assists. What more can you say?
Agreed, he was BOG by a mile tonight.:thumbsu:
His hands are as good as anyone in the comp. Once the roughman has the dukes on it he aint letting go.

How about we judge the guy when he's not playing on a skinny little 10 game green horn. Franklin is the real reason Roughhead's fortunes have changed so rapidly, not to mention Hawthorn's midfield dominance. Stand alone he's still far from a great player.... Needs to beat good opponents.
How about he has 46 goals this season? Did he kick them all tonight hero?
Go back to supporting your team that wins premierships once every 50 years. Thankyou and please do come again.

He'd be the number one forward at Geelong. Fact.

Good on him and he continues to develop really well. Does show why we picked him so high.

Only when the salary cap came in did your club hit the wall. But hey, if you can't buy a premiership, tank years of footy and pay hacks like Nick Holland boat loads of money to pick up charity off the AFL.
Just know that if you blokes manage a flag from this team, it came from charity because you were such a crap club for years who couldn't put a list together without massive AFL assistance. Relish. :D
Continual averagedom from the G-Towners, with 1.5 awesome seasons warrants your crap? Come to our board for healthy debate, not egotistical crap.
What assistance ferrett? Smart recruiting? Tenace is killing them, isn't he?

So, now you're a hero, because you finally won a flag after a 44 years (were you even alive for the 1963 premiership).....p*ss off this board and go troll on bay 13 if you're that excited about it....peanut..........

Ok so you know nothing about football outside of Geelong. You also didn't watch the game. But the trouble I have with skidmarks like you is that you sprout your garbage with such conviction. Is there a moron threshold that once you cross it you are totally oblivious to your stupidity?
Roughead will be better than Jonathon Brown IMO and at the same age is proving my opinion to be correct.
Just on Geelong McFly I am feeling confident we will beat you in finals, so do stick around ...

If we win the flag this year, which I think we might it will mean we have won 10 flags in the time you have won one.
Think about that one. Also think about why we've been known as the Mighty Hawks by the VFL/AFL community forever and your mob are known as Handbaggers...

Great game by Roughie tonight, once we get our act together the towering twins will create havoc in the forward lines.

I always thought his bigest problem was that he was'nt good looking enough to play for Hawthorn. He has lost most of his ging and he is starting to play well now.

I think that changes when you play like he did last night.
I know some females who now think he's pretty cute! :p

Roughie is great. The J.B. of the future. Hie two goal assists to Hodge in the kast quarter were brilliant, and selfless.
Dread the thought, if we had've drafted Franklin with two, we could've finished with Tambling instead of Roughie. Brilliant tactics Hawks.

It is not just his marking, his agility for a mountain man when the ball hits the ground is amazing, as an added bonus he is also able to lay a mighty fine tackle without giving away a free kick.
How he didn't get a free kick when he tackled glass is beyond me!
Roughie is coming along nicely and I have no doubt that we are looking at a future JB

JB ????
Do you mean Jason Dunstall
if so I agree:thumbsu:
roughy would be the key foward and many other afl clubs not bad kicking 46 goals after 14 games and probably has one of the best sets of duke in the afl

Interesting to see Roughie drawing a comparison to Jason Dunstall.
Roughie is way better with taking a Speccie.
Unfortunately he more than makes up for this with his kicking inaccuracy.
There are some good early signs that he is following in the Dunstall trend. His defensive work and team play are things that remind me of Dunstall.
If he was Hawthorn's only tall target, he would easily kick 100 goals in a season.

The JB comparison would be Jonathon Brown not Piggy D.

A GUN! Is just as effective as Franklin and would lead the coleman if he got buddys kicks directed at him. No complaints though, he has the strongest hands in the comp, he is selfless, he is physical, he is Jarryd Roughead

he is the best FF in the comp. Why? because he is a hawk! nah, kidding, the way he leaves his feet at any oppotunity is insane. The thump on the defender would be imense. Don't expect to see the umps let it go.... eventually Franklin and roughy will kick 200 a season between them, with 100 free against

I honestly rate him as high as Buddy. Just doesn't get as much ball directed at him (varies greatly).
Got a great set of hands and is agile. I would hate to think what could happen if they could both consistently kick straight.
Great game from the Roughster - I actually think Fevola has the best hands in the comp but Roughie is not too far away.
I remember 2 years ago I was sitting behind the goals and some Carlton fan yells out 'ROUGHEAD? GOOD NAME FOR AN UGLY ____!' And I found that pretty funny. But he is really good and I can only see him getting better from here. He kicks enough to be the top goalkicker in most other teams...

Needs to get more consistant in front of goal as, much like Buddy boy, it's a lottry at times. Just getting better though and will be big for us for a long time.
