That's probably the worst 57pt win in the history of the AFL. Bad skill errors, shocking turnovers, poor skills and indirect football. More shocking kicking for goal, what was it - 4.7 in the first and 1.8 in the third? Of course there were some positives but I'm feeling pretty flat and frustrated with it all. I've just got home and it's even more painful on the tv. An effort only slightly better than last week.

We havent played well for a number of weeks now and our slumber continues. Reality is that we are playing at about 65% of our capacity. Once we get a full list back and they have a few weeks under their belt we could produce the goods in September. Keep the faith mate.:)

Terrible game.
Looked like the players had one thing on their mind ...the pub.
Would have been acceptable if we came away unscathed but Lewis will probably miss a few, Renouf atleast 2, Crawf might have buggered the knee again, Dew a late withdrawal, Hodge looked proppy etc etc..
Rest up boys and get your heads and body right for the charge home.

.
I saw it as a practice match. Work in progress in attempting to get our running link game down the corridor style back again. There were some good signs as far as that aspect goes.
We are a long way behind the leaders.

Agreed. We have slipped considerably. All going well with our best 22 on the paddock come finals time there is suffice quality in our player list with the ability to catch-up.
The top teams are having a good run with low injury lists.
Consider that our club appears to be coping well in dropping only two games with so many quality players on our injury list. That is the sign of a reasonable depth - a must ingredient in going into finals. I see our honchos do not rush back players too quickly after copping injuries, severe and not so severe.

No we're not - we're second right now, and just behind Geelong.

Thanks for trying find some positives Gary. It makes a nice change from all the whingers on this forum of late.
This place is becoming a pain ... whinge, whinge, bitch, bitch ... maybe Hawks fans would like to return to 2-3 years ago when we were getting belted each week.
It has been a long and hard season and we're 12-2. The finals are still 9 weeks away. Get a grip people, and try to find some pleasure out of this year. I honestly can't work out why some people even bother to follow footy, they obviously have no grasp of what is happening at Hawthorn.
We have a 57 point win, and people aren't happy. And don't give me this crap about "the way we won". WE WON!!!! FFS ... WE WON!!!! If the day ever comes when I can't be pleased about a Hawthorn victory I'll go to the beach and pull a wave over my head.
It was bad enough having to listen to the Ox, Bucks, and Commetti belly-aching all night without coming onto this forum and hearing all the negativity.
I've had a gutful.
A couple of positives, 1. The form of Ozzie, imo clearly our best player and the only one willing to kick the thing long to our forwards. Has come of age as a footballer which showed during the game when worsfold put their no1 tagger selwood on him. Also took a hanger in the 1st quarter. 2. Hodgey's class, had a quiet nite disposal wise but when u do what he does with the ball 3 goals all of real skill and poise, then you realise how good the guy is. 3. Buddy smashing a couple of eagles in the fight during the 2nd quarter, most exciting part of the game for mine.
Was it better then last week?

Some very interesting posts on this topic tonight, yes we won, and won by a country mile, and good on Clarkson and everyone involved for getting us to where we are now. A few things have not gone our way recently, with injuries affecting some of our in form players, and skill errors creeping back into our team. But on the positive, the break is here for us, our guys have got time to get the kinks ironed out before the tough road home.
Carn The Hawks, we have got to prove we are the better side this year and not the pretenders.

I'm sure everyone is happy we won, but being there, it was quite, as the OP said, the worst win I have probably seen. I think the OP was trying to state just how far behind the Cats and the Dogs we are (not ladder wise obviously).
I've never been to a game where the crowd was so silent, it was that bad.
A few good highlights though, but terrible advertisement for the game and for our club on Friday night footy.
