It strikes me that this has been our main problem over the past few weeks.
Whereas in the first few rounds, we were silky in our transition from the defensive fifty to the wing, we now do it so arduously and painfully that it actually makes me cringe at times to watch.
What's changed?

Teams have figured out how to stop our players.. too much handballing from the defensive 50 to the wing.. it was overdone tonight.

Guerra. Prior to his injury he did 98% of the kick ins and did it well. When he went down Dew took over and then he went down and ..... raffled between a few guys.
Has been a problem but I thought with Guerra coming back that would be solved but Guerra seemed a) cover for Bateman further up the field or b) they dont want to risk his hammy by doing kick outs?
Must admit somewhat suprised and disappointed they didnt do more work during training on this problem.

Perhaps it is not the kicker but the hard running to provide an option is down. This might be due to efforts of the fitness coach as Rusty has mentioned in other threads.

I agree. In the early games, Goo would also mix his kick-ins with some 50-60 metre passes to an option outside the fifty. I haven't seen this happen recently. This type of kick-in would get the ball into our forward fifty before the opposition had time to get players back. One of the reasons Buddy's options have dried up.
