Was pretty sure I heard on Fox Sports News this morning that Buddy was reported for wrestling? Can someone please confirm that if true this only incurs a fine?

Yep, think that's the case (don't know who else went in the book, from memory Hunter, Glass, Croad and a few others were just as much in the thick of it as Buddy). Can't get suspended, just a fine.

Will only be a fine I do believe. Unless he threw a punch during the wrestle (striking) it should only be the bank balance that gets hit.

Cheers guys, appreciate the clarification. I woke up this morning and felt a trifle sick to hear Fox Sports News reel off.... Lewis injured, Crawf and Hodgey battling injuries, Renouf and Buddy booked!

Gee, I am hoping we can get a few back for the Swannies clash!

They're $900 fines for wrestling I believe.

.

The AFL believe they are cleaning up the game. It is a reasonable policy in attempting to cut out some of the blood curdling thuggery of yesteryear. Such a policy is, correctly, to pacify mums so they do mot over worry about their little boys taking up the game.

However, to my mind, the AFL and the umpires are going over the top with soft reports. Crikey! Some of the push and shoves in the game these days are nothing more strenuous than kids having a pillow fight.

Buddy! He is being taken out from stardom. A very talented athlete by awarding so soft frees against him because of the now-a-days tiggy touch girls rule. An infringement for the stepping in between a mate and an opposition player upon the eruption of a spontaneous mild fracas is ridiculous and spoiling the game wholesale as is too much whistle from self attention seeking umpires.

The game is becoming a mess.

We got a goal out of the fracas, that was one of my favorite things in the game. Seeing the wrestling, then the long shot of players streaming towards the Hawk goal as the hapless Eagles realise that they should have been paying attention to the ball!

We should have taken his week + Mitchell’s so they don't have points hanging over their head for finals. Bad move by the football department.

Would be nice if he could get some points for wrestling so he can take a week off and clear his points.

If they both took the week, they would still have 25 points hanging over their heads, meaning if they get another minor report, totalling 125 points and take the early plea down to 93 odd points they still end up getting another weeks suspension.

Taking the early pleas was the only option as you risk missing 2 games total, instead of one.

That was a pretty cool sight to see a few of the Hawks stream away from the bust-up to setup a great goal.

I think I was as confused as the Eagles players when Rioli ran out of defence and burst through the middle. It didn't even occur to me that the ball was live.

That is probably the best way to break up a melee. Let the play roll, and the players interested in playing the game will have an advantage over those interested in fighting.

It's not the first time I've seen Franklin with a torn jumper.

And i doubt it will be the:thumbsu:the last... Look at how many times dermott had his shirt ripped. Hopefully this is a trend, ripped jumper to ratio of dermotts premiership meadllions for the hawks.

Buddy in and the hawks are in for some good times
