Its funny how last nights game has created a lot of talk about how bad we were yet, i mentioned on this board 4-5 weeks ago that we were playing a rubbish brand of footy.
Facts are this
Collingwood game was outstanding and we got ahead of ourselves:thumbsu:
Melbourne, Doggies, Bombers Kangas and Eagles have been rubbish:thumbsd:
Soft football from us where players have gone away from our strengths in playing hard and tough footy and play direct and quick footy.
Not sure if this is to do with injuried to key senior players and the youngsters are not quite as good as we think they are.
I will say this-
We need Mcglynn, Bateman and Sewell back asap. Mcglynn is one of our best runners and plays direct while keeping his head over the ball.
Ladson Ellis and Ossie need to go back to flanks for us where they can compete honestly and have some influence in those positions.
Whats up with Willow???? Moving in slow motion all night...Was he puffing on something during the breaks?:eek: I will say Willow may be dropped for the Swans game after about 5 efforts last night were deplorable.
Ellis must be one of the slowest decision makers in traffic i have ever seen. X, please go with first instincts and get rid of the bloooody pill. You do not have the pace needed to hang onto the pill like a Kerr.
We have Twin Towers in the goal square yet are playing a brand of footy that doesnt suit these guys.
Run and attack and take the game on.

Exactly how i feel.. players that have been missing is the missing link to our hardness and our hard running.
We got two big talented young fowards uop ther why dont they get the ball and run it down the middle of the ground and kick it long.
This bullshit last night of turning sideways handballing it into pressure situations and not taking risk they are thinking of were to go too much when the answer is right in front of them.
If they think while they run they can see our fowards are there and why not go for broke rather than stop and think and look to see were the nearest players is to handball it to them...]We may have won by 57 points but it was a disgracefull effort for 3 quarters that reminded me of the 05/06 times..........

I think this is pretty harsh.
We won by 10 goals and didn't get out of first gear. To me that's a sign of a good side.
Laddo and Ellis back to the flanks, sure, when Bateman and Sewell are back they will be, but Ozzie - that's unfair, the guy's been great.
Ellis' decision making - you're right. The guy isn't playing his natural game. At one point he got the ball, sprinted through the middle and kicked long to the forward line - THAT'S what I want to see from this bloke!
About the game plan - there must be a reason why we've moved away from quick ball movement. Not sure what it is.

His one of the few smaller fowards we have, so we will NOT drop him.
PLus he had a pretty good game, 15 disposals 1.2 goals, fair effort.

Not sure what it is or why it it is, coz i am lost for words as to why we have been playing like a team that is still rebuilding..
I'd say it's because we've got blokes like Cyril, Stokes, Morton, Tuck, Renouf, Kennedy that have all debuted this year.
Also, blokes like Ellis and Murphy needing to take on big roles without many games under their belt.

yer but its only july so there are 8 more games to go and i,m thinking if we can win 4-6 more games then i,m happy..but like dermie said we need our best 22 to be playing together for atleast the last 4 games so we can get some rythym together come finals...

I am talking about the way we are playing. RUBBISH style atm. I just hope its not us getting into bad habits for the FUTURE playing soft uncontested footy because it gets you nowhere.
Newsflash
We have Franklin and Roughy in the forward 50.
Common sense tells me when we are missing a few top liners in the middle such as Sewell, Bates, Crawf, Hodge etc etc the intructions to players like Laddo, Ellis, Tucky, Kanga when they have filled in would be get in onto the boot and get the ball moving forward and quickly.
This stupid stuffing around with the prune by hand backwards and sideways will get us nowhere in the heat of a Final.

12 and 2, so you pricks would be miserable even if we were on top without a loss........get with the program or go and barrack for Freo or West Coast then you would have something to whinge about
