Very bad news in regards to us holding Warnock.

Why? It could be they dont' think they are the monty they thought they were for Warnock, so they are thinking they need to get some games into the young guy.

I hope your right.

My take on it is that they are going to dump White next season and so are going to play the young guys to build up some depth.

No White next year - Jamar is not a lead ruck, the other boys are not number 1 rucks, natman will not play ruck in the first round ........me thinks they are going to be bringing in a more mature ruck to lead with.

It is also a massive signal to Warnock that there is a job there for them plus if they go with the line up they have named ...last place is almost in the bag.

I would rather the Eagles finish last and get Natman as at least it makes Warnock think and Melb may be more inclined to talk.

I have a bad feeling about how this is playing out.

As shit as the Eagles are playing, i can't see them not winning a game for the rest of the season, whereas Melbourne will probably struggle to win any.

Yes your right, it does send a message... but i'd say they are also hedging their bets. Why play the junior as first ruck when you've got us putting games into Warnock for them?

I guess in some aspects their junior ruck could be playing for his career, and if they have natman down at 1, they figure, we'll either go after warnock or not - lets see what the young guy can provide.

Or maybe.. just maybe.. they are dropping him because his form has been shit? Who would have thought.

Have you seen Jamar and White play this year?

Jamar would be close to the worst player on an AFL list.

Have you seen Whites form? Pretty pathetic. Why not give someone else a go and tell him to sharpen up. If Bailey was gonna tank and play the youngsters, White would have been out 7 weeks ago. He has stated that he isn't just going to play the youngsters and that is true, with Yze and Robbo playing a fair bit, so were Carroll and Rivers till Rivers got injured.

If Melbourne are planning on having Warnock as their number 1 ruckman next season they are dreaming. He'd be lucky if he lasts half a season if he has to do that much work. If he's smart, he'll go somewhere that he can take the number 1 role in 2-3 years time, when he is physically ready for it.

Clearly you havent watched much of Melbourne play. Seeing that Robbo was injured about a month ago and is out for the season and Yze has played 4 games this year. And Carroll whos pretty crap anyway has only played about half the games.

Couldnt blame anyone for not watching their games, their whole squads pretty pathetic. The only good game to watch Melbourne play so far this year was the 2nd half against you lot :p

PS. Warnock has no chance of being a docker next year. And he will be another freo player who will become a gun somewhere else.

Yes, but the point is he is playing them. They have rookie listed guys like Valenti who has only played two games... why aren't they giving him time then? The whole point is, they are not playing young guys for the sake of it.

PS: I'm ignoring the last part because you are a typical troll.

It just seems futile getting worked up about Warnock. If he stays fine, if he goes, get the best deal we can. If he "stars" somewhere else, good luck to him. If he wants to go to what is clearly the worst side in the league multiplied by three, then I would be surprised. No point being first ruck in a useless list.

The only grief I have is if he is being played because the selection match committee feels any pressure from him to be selected or he won't stay.

Well said NF! :thumbsu:

I don't know if Melbourne are the worst team in the AFL coz i think WCE are seriously challenging

If Melbourne gets the number pick they go for super Nat and they already have Paul Johnson and Meesh as rucks. Doesnt make sense to me for them to go after Warnock. If they dont get the pick one, then I would be more worried or if they planned to go after Rich, Hurley, or Watts.

Honestly if you were Robbie Warnock and you wanted to go back to Victoria, Melbourne would be the last club you would go to it's stupid to say that he would want to play there just because of his brother.

I kind of agree with this. As rotto said, Melbourne have other options already, so Warnock is not just going to walk straight into the number ruck spot unchallenged. From previous comments he just wants to play - he'd probably be better off at Richmond than Melbourne. (Or of course, Fremantle, where we only have one other AFL ready ruckman)

Presuming we finish 14th, I'd swap Warnock and our pick 3 for Melbourne's pick 1.

They get their ready made ruckman, and we get NickNat as our backup to Sandi.

Simple really. Everyone's a winner. ;)

I'm also sure Robbie doesn't want to be seen as someone who's following in his brothers footsteps, although already he has made a bigger name for himself.

I like your logic.

We could then have the best ever Korean and Fijian players ever on our list !!!!.

Would we take Natuini or Rich ? I think we'd need to take Rich. Our midfield is woeful.

RoJo could you please give me the list of these ex-Freo players who have gone on to be "guns". Some may have been servicable or better but "guns" is a bit OTT.

McLeod, Clement, Bell, and Farmer.

They are the only the players that left Freo and were guns. The other players are just serviable and most of them played at the same level. I can only see four guns and two of them never actually played for Freo. All under the recruiting of Neesham.

Natuini for sure, there is talk he will eventually be a midfielder anyway...I tend to agree.

Melbourne have screwed us at the trading table in the past and I expect them to do the same if they finish last. Lets hope Warnock has aspirations to go to a club with a future.

McLeod never ever played a game for the FFC.
Granted Bell and Clement were very good but name a few more of the GUNS who have left us.
Please don't insult our intelligence by sugesting people like Sincalir,Holland and Brown as being guns.
