Nick Riewoldt is an absolute champion, stating the bleeding obvious but faaaaaar out he's a superstar
Pretty ugly game.
Didn't think the Saints had a hope, to be honest. Did well to claw their way into the game and then win it.
Players ignoring Lyon is my guess.
After half time that is.

Crap game, crap venue, crap crowd, two ordinary teams. And the AFL wants to have a team on the Gold Coast?
I guess if it's their own team that plays there week in - week out it may make a difference, you'd want to hope so.
I lived in shitty Canberra for a few years and went to some games there, reminded me of that, so, so crowd, very ordinary atmosphere and only just a game.
Very impressive performance, never an easy team to beat are the Kangas - but they were to damn good.
That debacle in the last quarter was a difficult thing to overcome, showed a lot of character from the playing group. They deserve to play finals on that performance.

Typical Geelong fan comment... what more do you want in a game? not every game has to be high scoring... you think the cats eagles game last week was good???
Venue sucks, not our choice to play there

Gutsy last quarter.
Thought that interchange penalty would kill the momentum but they kept going. :thumbsu:
Congrats St Kilda, great fighting win. Wanted to win more and worked hard all day, Milne and Dal Santo were pretty good and Riewoldt was just brilliant, enjoy the win.

No they don't have to be high scoring to be good games, but it wasn't a good game to watch, same as Hawks and Weagles last night and watching Dogs and Port now and it's pretty ordinary too.
You can have tough skilful low scoring games and they're brilliant, Brisbane v Collingwood in Brisbane this year in round 2 and Port and Saints in round 6 @ AAMI was a rippa from memory.

We bludgeoned North down on raw talent.
its scarey what a good coach could achieve with st kilda.

the last couple of times we've played carlton have been more disciplined, with less talent.
with your kids a bit older, judd and a decent coach, might break st kilda's streak against you.
here's hoping not from me :)
Congratulations to the Saints, a good win I guess. I don't think it is a style that will get you anywhere in a hurry, I thought the individual efforts were better overall, had you played a more direct style you would have won more convincingly.

How would you describe it then? I just call it how I see it. People will get on here and say great this and gusty that, it was a win for the Saints, good on them and it was a crud game.

It may not be have been an attacking, free-flowing, high-scoring game, but it was an entertaining match.
Controversy, a champion stepping up to turn the match for his team, a come-from-behind, clawing-tooth-and-nail win, could have gone either way for the entire second half, impossible to pick.
Sorry, I rather enjoyed it.
Far more than I would have enjoyed watching another Geelong 80 point win, where the winner is clear from the first ten minutes of the first quarter.
