Yep. Better team on the night and thoroughly deserved the win. Particularly good effort from Riewoldt. BOG by a long, long way.

Enjoy the win Sainters. Have a good one.

Yeap, should be more like the Roos, kicking one goal in the last quarter. Awesome brand of footy!

Please don't feed the troll guys, he's been dealt with.

Thanks to the rest of the Kangaroos supporters for their best wishes.

Unfortunately our teams have been terribly frustrating all season and you just don't know what you're going to get when they run out at the start of the game.

Was there, thought it was going to be a long night, started throwing down as much beer as possible at half time. Crowd was pretty much pro-saints, seriously. Was a great comeback, I've got a sore throat from abusing umpires and what not but worth it. First time I've seen the saints win live =)

Was one of the best fighting wins for the Saints for years. Lets hope it is just the start. I noticed Ross Lyon was talking up the next game as a block buster - lets hope it gets treated as one.

And lets hope he leaves that shithouse gameplan at QLD and brings the new exciting one back with him. He could actually be a genius, playing like absolute dogshit for a qtr and then blow them out of the water in the last. :thumbsu:

Congratulations!

The crowd advantage that we had came through pretty clear on the TV. My brother was a member of the South East Queensland Saints last year when he lived up there and they seem to have a large and active supporter group. The fact that the club has agreed to take up the slack in helping to develop the Gold Coast market by hanging around for a couple of extra days to do some clinics was some good thinking I thought.

Unfortunately the one thing that worried me was how loud the roar seemed to be everytime Roo went near the ball. He seems to be very popular up there and the new club are going to throw absolutely everything at him to become their captain and marquee player. But that's 2011 so no use worrying about that yet.

Yeh when Roo got near the ball crowd went nuts. North fans that were there were NOT happy at all, justifiably of course, think Gold Coast really does need a team up here, no-one really interested in the kangas besides the faithful. Was a great win, ended up being a happy half pissed saint fan instead of a drunk angry fan haha.

Hmmm in terms of intelligent thought
all i can think of to say is:
The King18 is Dead...
long live the King! ...HA!...

hey dude...mebbe instead of flinging harmless muck on an opposition forum
u may wanna fling this at your own match committee:

3 GOALS IN THE 2nd HALF
HA!!!

End of story!

Top stuff Trav.

What's it like as a stadium to view a match at?

The brews are always sweeter after a win brother.

I went tonight with my father (we try and go to all games at Carrara as we support AFL in Queensland).

I wasn't supporting either side tonight - just wanted a great contest and to be relaxed (as I never am at the Gabba watching my Lions) - and that's what I got. Great win tonight, loved the comeback and the bullshit interchange free was so stupid. There were so many Saints supporters there - at least a third of the crowd and everyone went nuts when Nick went near the ball. I think he will stay at the Saints in the future - don't worry, don't think he will do a "Judd".

Enjoy the win - you guys deserved it - see ya in the finals.

Cheers! :)

Dunno bout all of you, but im excited about the game in 2 weeks. Let's all try and get there and maybe get 55-60 thousand...good win today for both clubs. Both have exciting young players making a mark on the comp, and the experienced ones in good form (Dal Santo, Milne, Stevens, Scotland).

Let's knock Collingwood out of the 8!!!

Lol

Have went to a few games at carrara, it's not a bad place to watch the footy, your pretty close to the action which is good, but the atmosphere is pretty s***. In saying that it was pretty good last night.

Roo will be 28-29 when the GC team rolls around. And if he's won us a flag by then, I'd be more than happy for him to go to the Coast, for picks 1, 3 and 5 of course. :D

But he doesn't seem like a player who's gonna do a Judd, he seems very loyal and intent on playin out his career at Moorabbin....well Frankston. :P

Thanks to those gracious Roos fans and the other opposition fans for their congratulations. You may be bearing witness to a revitalised St Kilda re-entering the calculations for finals football. Still early days yet - but we certainly couldn't continue playing the way we were. Thanks again.

Well done Saints. You were the deserved winners unfortunately.

The whole club should be made to watch the first and last quarters over and over all week to drum into their thick heads what game plan suits your strengths. Must be driving you guys crackers having a dangerous forward line being wasted by slow delivery most weeks. We know the feeling!

Top marks to the real blue & white army showing up with congrats. Prob a team that has some real decent supporters humble & realistic. Good onya guys, I support you & am impressed with some of the guts your boys play with most weeks. Never a team that can be written off & always a team that can make a team pay for a non committal playing spirt. A win over North is always a bonus.

29 Jun 2008, 23:48
Yep, good game north, bet you wish they screwed over Sydney as much as they did us with the interchange penalty, but they are called the AFL's love child for a reason!
I have no doubt the saints can give the finals a shake up, just gotta stay in the 8 obviously.
