Have we all calmed down?

My girlfriend was worried for the safety of the loungeroom as I was jumping around screaming my head off.

What a great win. What spirit. Mark my words. A win like this will do wonders for the spirit of the boys. A pivot point in our season.

12 goals in 2 and half quarters shows how quickly the team can adapt to a new gameplan.

Ross Lyon did a great job with his handling of Milne and Dal Santo. Credit where credit is due.

It's been forever and day since we won a game like that. Last time I can remember a win like that was against Geelong @ Geelong coming back from 4 goals down at 3/4 time against the wind. I think it was in 1999. Sensational stuff.

Let's enjoy it gang and get positive. Hayes, Bakes, Michael Gardiner all to come back into the team.

We've often come back from losing a first quarter, but usually it was because we had a big second quarter and were already leading at half time.

Not so this time.

I am impressed.

The players were ecstatic. Roo waited until all the boys got back to the huddle in the middle after the game. You could see them giving each other pats of encouragement - genuine emotion, not like a Collingwood type of professional "emotion", this was a meaningful win for them. Roo spoke from the heart and they all listened and they all were revved up. Then they went into the change rooms and sang the song with gusto.

What I really liked was the perseverance.

Early in the second quarter it was obvious we were going to throw caution to the wind and play on at nearly every opportunity. Sam Fisher was penalised for a dubious holding the ball decision and Leigh Montagna for running too far (which I suspect may have been for an illegal shephard off the ball) as we tried to get moving. We could have easily dropped our heads at that stage but we kept running.

Also, the 19 men on the field free kick was a real stomach punch. I remember telling my mum this is the sort of stuff that happens when we play our immediate previous opponent, Fremantle! We put our heads down again and regained the momentum.

It was clear 2 minutes into the last quarter that the Kangas were toast and we were going to run all over them. Hopefully this instills a belief in the boys that they can win from any position. Realistically 7 of the last 8 are winnable, and even Hawthorn aren't travelling that well at the moment. GO SAINTERS!!
