We are 2 games outside the 8 if we defeat freo today. We then verse:
Brisbane (dome) - they are struggling we may be favs (win)
Richmond (mcg) - winnable
Collingwood (mcg) - winnable
Melb (mcg) - certain win
WCE (subi) - certain win
Adelaide (Dome) - we play well against them and we lossed by a kick at there home
WBD (Dome) - loss
Stk (Dome) - this could determine if we or the saints go through, if we keep on playing well
8 games and we could get 6 wins from it making us have 11 wins for the season if we beat freo today. I want draft picks though lets hope we dont finish 10th or 9th. Am i getting too far ahead of my beloved Dons or are we a genuine chance with a run home like that??:D

I believe we are still a chance, but I'm taking it one week at a time.

Let's take it one game at a time before we start mentioning finals.
What we should do is ban the f word from this board. If it's mentioned, then that poster gets a yellow card.

Why on earth do we even want to make it to the 'f-words' - all it will earn us is a shit draft pick.

If we had fallen across the line against the crows than perhaps but we are two games out of the eight and our percentage is horrible thanks to a couple hidings to the Cats and Swans. I would be have happy if we finished with 7-9 wins which would be a reasonable turned around considering the injuries that we had and how easily we were just rolling over even just 6-7 weeks ago. But if we string a few more wins together as well as players such as Ryder, Reimers, Myers, Neagle, Lonergan, Houli and Jetta all coming along a fair way will mean our season hasn't been a total failure.

I just love the winning acpect of the last 3 weeks, if only to prove what a pack of unmitigated hacks all the journalists are in their ratings of the players we have....

would love to see it happen, would love them to storm home and party crash the finals, would be great for out spirit as a team and an experience for the bombers youth... but I'm just keeping it real at this stage and taking it one week at a time. By all means... it's possible... I think we have a great group of team mates and by all means are capable of winning the matches mentioned above... but I just don't wanna be labeled as an amnesia patient and "forget" what was happening a month ago... much like carlton have "forgotten" the last 5 years.
CARN THE BOMBERS!
i'll never turn my back on them and as long as they fight till wherever this year takes us.. I'll be behind them and proud of what they have shown us over the last 3 weeks.

Good post Windy. Lets not get too carried away. Our form changed after halftime against Richmond imo. Its been a good month and it has shown us that we are on the right track and the youngsters we have are on the way up. With more games and experience under their belts, we will have a great group of players in the coming years. Every game is a 50/50 chance no matter who you play, well except for Geelong and Hawthorn i guess. This year should be treated as a developement year, and we should be proud and excited with players finallly breaking out; Neagle, Jetta, Reimers, Lonergan, Myers, Pears and more but i can't think at the moment. Go Bombers, i think we have a strong future but we are still a little way off. :thumbsu::)

"Look, full credit to the lads, we're taking it one week at a time, just trying to get over the line and get the four points, we were cherry ripe this week, and full credit to the opposition, but we just wanted it more. We're a young group and we just want to develop and get better each week. We're not thinking more than a week ahead, but we'll take anything that comes to us. Next week will be a tough game, they always play well against us, we'll just wait and see what happens. Yeah nah."
Why on earth do we even want to make it to the 'f-words' - all it will earn us is a shit draft pick.
We don't need draft picks - we've got the kids already.
As Sean. says:
Winning >>>>>>>> Losing.

Agreed I think the future looks fantastic but we need to keep perspective we have beaten teams that occupy 2nd last, 3rd last and 9th so we still have a bit to prove, never less wins are wins and we will take them against anybody. The good thing is we have so much upside to this team and IMO I believe we wont see what we are really made of until around this time next year. By that time our 22(age) and unders will start pushing into the game bracket that will deliver more consistency in performance, for example guys like;
Houli 36 games( current games + 22 rounds between now and then)
Myers 30
Sammy 34
Reimers 36
Ryder 66
Jetta 37
Gus 86
Neagle 28
Will all be around 30 games or more(or course this is speculative injury and form might reduce the numbers for a few quite a bit but with other talent like:
Gumby
Pears
Daniher
Hislop
All getting their chance between now and then watch out for our run home to the finales in 2009!
