Interesting now that Glenorden have pulled out and the fixture has changed for the last 5 rounds.

Albanvale and Deer Park play this Friday night and again now in 3 weeks. If they split it one win each Albanvale should hold onto 3rd with a better %.

Albanvale have a list of 26 players. Of those only 2 go up next year. There are 5 kids who are 15 or 16 and should be playing under 16's. There are also about 15 that still have another 2 years.

Western Magpies wont drop we have Hoppers and Braybrook in the next 2 weeks and then Albanvale which i dont expect us to lose.

Good chance we will get a home final aswell because Laverton Park will host junior finals again.

Unit 27 i was at the game on saturday morning & your captain had nothing wrong with his legs because we didn't have a problem chasing & hitting the players after they had kick the footy. And if you must know Deer Park/Sunshine were without there leading goal kicker, forward pocket, Centre Half Forward & there number one ruckman (who both were out with on reports) so there is no need to make excusses. All I can say after talking to the boys that they would be looking forward to playing you guys again.

I cant believe how cocky u ppl from Deer Park/Sunshine are. Uve beaten us by 3 and 15 pts this season. Ur starting to act like the qualifying final will be a walkover when it clearly wont be. IMO we have a much better side and we r better balanced all around the ground and it will prove itself come finals time.

Parkside have it wrapped up, we versed Sunshine/DP earlyier in the year, and flogged them by almost 100 points, i don't see too much in them, can't say much for C grade sadly :mad:

Would have to say they r easily the favourites. Have only lost 3 games for the year and there biggest losing margin was only by a goal i think, theyre a good side and will be hard to beat.

My tips are :

Deer Park to beat Western magpies by 5 goals +. Played both sides and think Deer Park are the better side.

Albanvale to beat Yarraville by 7 goals - Should get over the line against a fairly average 5th placed side. Will then look forward to another showdown with the magpies.

Had them on the ropes on Sat at half time and no bench and missing best 3 players hurt. Plenty of belief there though that we can do some damage to them, if we get it into our forward quickly.

Played the second half of the year in the seniors and has been killing it. Has kicked about 35 goals in half a season including a bag of 10 and 2 bags of 6.

I know we probably rushed about 10 of those behinds

The main difference was we were able to hit targets up forward and our forwards played very good where as your forward thrusts went to no where in the forward line and our backline were able to win most of the contests

Well done to lavo deserved the win,
but i just think that parkside are goin to be to strong for lavo...parkside have a pritty good team all round. It will be good cos both sides like to run wit the ball alot

Should be a great game. Both teams very competitive and it will be good to see how Grand Final pressure influences player confidence and skills. Parkside may feel they have the upper hand over WMFC, but we all know that this may be a fatal way to enter into a game (As shown by Deer Park's 2008 history against WMFC).

We also have to remember back to round 3 when we defeated Parkside. That was probably the only time we played good football against them and the other 2 times was just filth. If Western Magpies come out to play football instead of being un-disclipline then we are in for a cracker.

Another thing that WMFC bloke brought up is also true with the fact that Deer Park had the wood over us during the year but then when it mattered we were far too good. Hopefully the boys can take the same attitude out there against the benchmark of the competition in Parkside.

Either way, Parkside should expect to be playing a whole new team from what they have faced during the season. The past few weeks, we have been trying new strategies on field which have shown to be quite successful. Parkside u18s now have the biggest game they will ever face on sunday morning.

Ayden Andrew Charles Bourne is the key to Lavos success, if Parkside shut him down then WMFC r in trouble!

Its true that Ayden Bourne is a real contender for grand final BOG. Its been quite the debate on where his glorious player can achieve the most damaging effect against the opposition, but the Western Magpies Football Club have decided to use this professional in the way he is suited best to shatter the Parkside backline.
