In a good first quarter by Werst Coast Coates showed unbelievable bias. First awarding a mark to Petrie in the 50 which clearly wasn't controlled and then awarding a kick against Cox in a 50/50 arm linking ruck contest. Those early moments were but a taste of things to come and a soft shepherding decision against Milli gave the Kangas a goal followed by an even softer 50m against Kerr for another goal.
With Hayden Kennedy out there too our biggest threat is the umpires.

On our performance we should be four goals up. Losing Cox is a blow.

soft??? You cant take the ruckman out of the contest like that. Mcintosh should of known better for someone so experienced

Macca, do you think this game is being badly umpired, and/or is the umpiring favouring either team?

the decision was debatable because Burton was in the direct area next to the ball up; McIntosh may have thought that Burton was going to contest it

Correct.....his interpretation was a centre square only one and the ruckman has to be nominated there

The Eagles are getting deadset raped from the umpires - but the Mcintosh decision was fair.

I'm glad you said that - it's hard to be objective when it's your team.

The Milli decision was right but to be fair to McIntosh he was just trying to put body on body pressure on his man. With Burton in the vicinity he thought it was going to be Burton v Gardy. Then Petrie was it?, went up for the ruck contest making McIntosh's body pressure illegal. Just a misunderstanding.

I think after that first "mark" was paid my first response was "oh well they'll have to pay that all day!"

MY BAD. I forgot it was ****ing umpire GOATS who had made the trip to Manure oval. Thank god we beat them anyway

Coates was copping heaps from my lounge room when he gave away the weak ruck contest decision against Cox. Does he get his jollies by giving away free kicks incidents in a game so crucial?

McIntosh decision was fair - but had to watch the replay a few times to convince myself.

Well it wasn't.....Rule reading required and it becomes complex but in the end we won so bollux to Coates and his bias.

Mind you. if we'd lost by a goal I'd be spewing!!!!

But at the end of the day we won, we're finalists, we've done sooooooo much better than under KJ as to be chalk and cheese and I'm rapt.

Today we saw another pair of great prospects in Humm and Macca. What a bonus. I reckon Prior, Morrisson, Sierra and Ready will be good next year and Jones, Gaspar, Wirra and Fletch will be back. The youngsters will be one year more matured and the three cavaliers Roo, Milli and Jako will be there again to provide the experience.

We have soooooo much to look forward to. :)
