Well considering I chat to most of the regs on other sites as well I don't see any harm in meeting for a drink or 10 before/after the game........

and we all went beserk when Roger snapped that goal..........

This weeks game is live on Channel 8 so it will be interesting to see how many go out to the club......I know I'm looking forward to seeing the game live............

Do you know exactly how "live" it will be?

should be live "live" as the game is scheduled as 7:30 start in Adelaide so with 10 minute warm up should be the usual 7:40 bounce........

it's only been the Melbourne Fri/Sat night games that have been delayed on Channel 8.....

Was that from the paper or online......I'm sure the paper said 7:30 but will check and put in the email tonight.

If it is 8:00pm I'll include Channel 8's telephone number so everyone can ring up and complain........might even send an letter to the editor in the paper........

Yes, but I don't think that rule applies to you when you're male,43,bearded and overweight.

Then they'll cut the Simpsons....

It looks to be at the normal 8pm start like it has all year, so I doubt they'll change it anyway.

It is 8:00pm in both the paper and the online Australian TV guide.

Have confirmed with Channel 8 that it is 8:00pm.......we're getting the same coverage that is being shown in Melbourne so the Collingwood supporters will be complaining to Channel 10 down there as well.

For those in NSW, QLD & WA the match is on delay starting at 10:30pm EST - and it also loks like Fox doesn't have a early coverage for the states that miss out.......

I could ring up with qtr by qtr scores...........:D......but that may spoil things.......

Thanks for that.
We can thank our lucky stars for the ABC.
I am unable to wait when I know the game is being played.
Time to start making some noises.

Well I'm sure there will be some Collingwood supporters almost rioting over a delayed coverage..........and to think Channel Eddie isn't covering the game.........

It's not really a beard, it's muttonchops. But my nephew calls them "my beards".
:D If the bearded man is the bloke in the members who is often shown on the telly, no that's not me. I'm the lunatic in section J who faces the crowd after each goal and leads the cheer.

I swear he was in the rooms after the game singing the song on Saturday. Is he a director or something?

I always just thought he was a mad keen supporter with lots of money. He goes to all Port Magpies games as well. The singing in the rooms; Port have been selling that opportunity on eBay a few times this year and he may be the buyer. Then again you could be right, he may be some kind of director. Anyone know?

If he is who I think he is money is not a problem for anything and from what I've heard he is high up on the list of who fund the club the most.............

Might be a change of location to meet up before and after the game to the Medalist's Bar at the Southern End of the ground as there a few other Port supporters I know planning on meeting there.

I'll confirm the location tomorrow.

As there's no more public training sessions after tonight catching up there can wait til next week

Cheers

BEARDMAN!!!!!!!!

Good old beardman. The omen of our team!!! The cult hero of Port Adelaide!! Fell of my chair and cried with laughter when he was on the ground singing the song after the Ansett Cup Grand Final this year.

He aint overweight tho. I know where he sits, i see him every week. We always win when he is on the tv!!!

If we win the premiership this year he deserves to get a medal too!

The beardman is everywhere these days. It is almost impossible to go to or watch a Port game on TV without seeing the beardman there. I remember early on he used to always have these (what looked like) professionally made signs, they were great, haven't seen one for a while though.

Saw him in Perth (Freo game) after the match and he was talking to Boults and a few other commiteemen, i was speaking to one of them that i know but i didn't get around to asking who the beardman was.

Also had a couple of sightings of him of late, he was driving in front of me one day after i was leaving training, drives a grey (i think) nissan, or maybe toyota celica, anyway that sort but he didn't have the personalised "BEARDMAN" number plates which was disappointing. Also saw he close to my house at what i think is some transport type company maybe he has something to do with Scotts?

Anyway must have some money as he is always at all the away games, i went to all the games in the first year and it ain't a cheap undertaking.

The Beardman's name is Con!
Loaded or not, this guy is one of the most fanatical supporters we have, and every week he is there, right in the front row of the members stand.
