Take heed to your mates, he is an average footballer who is NOT a ruckman, Josh is a half forward flanker with a ruckmans height.

I'm a bit suspect of an Adelaide supporters undelying motives for posting this thread.

btw, i think Bryan is a welcome breath of fresh air as frasers needed proper support for some time now.

Fraser for your second round pick. Make it happen.

Fraser is a much better player than those on this board would have you believe. The idea of trading him for a second round pick is laughable.

He is a very important player to this team when he is up and healthy, as he is capable of impacting a game around the ground unlike any ruckman in the league not named Dean Cox.

what vinnie said.

Most posters on this board would tell you fraser is the worst player ever to play for collingwood

Josh Fraser career statistics:
167 games, made his debut in Round 1, 2000.
He averages 13.7 disposals per game.
4.7 marks per game.
.83 goals per game.
11 hit outs per game.
Mediocre 202 cm giant who gets out bustled by the midget Peter Bell in a marking dual.
Make up your own mind, be glad to take your second round selection from you guys.

I hope for your sake you save up all your pessimism for this board otherwise you surely don't have any friends... lol

I'm kinda sick of only hearing from you when you want to pay out "Fraser" or "Hackwell" (As you put it).

I know you don't have to listen to a damn thing I say, but maybe you should go away and come up with all the things you love about some of our players and post that rather than focusing solely on the negatives all the time.

Yes, we are all entitled to our opinions but we already know what yours is on those two players..... let it go.... :p

I agree but he gets slammed on this board. He has been playing injured for the past month at least. A few people have said that he lost them after the Carlton game. HE PLAYED INJURED. Give him a couple of weeks to find form and fitness

I don't disagree at all. When fit and healthy he's a superb player.

However, I don't think he'll ever be fit and healthy for Collingwood again. His body is more or less ruined imo, it's only going to get worse. if he continues to play in the ruck we'll be lucky to see 50 more games from Josh.

And I don't like to speculate like this, but I get the impression his attitude to this is something like 'poor me'.

The only place he has a long term future in is a KP forward position.

I cannot see him having a major impact for us in the ruck in future years.

Why do so many people feel the need to rag on Fraser?

He may not be the superstar he was touted to be before we drafted him, but he is a very good player. When he's fit he add's something to our team as a follower rather than a straight tap ruckman. He's competitive in the centre bounces and bloody great around the ground as well as being able to rest forward. Plus he's only 26 and has his best years ahead of him now that we've finally got some decent support for him.

People who want to bag him, post some footage on youtube of you doing better.

Fraser is a ruckmen capable of being at the top end in the comp, His games against North Melbourne and in the SOO this year are two good examples.

However for one reason or another. Lack of mental strength, not enough effort or poor fitness (I don't dare to judge which it is) He doesn't preform to this level often enough

That game of SOO is made for Fraser as it is practically a game of touch football, SOO is an exhibition match, nothing more nothing less, tell me how much contested footy was won! how many bumps executed! and please give me the tackle count!
This is the game that Josh excells at, non contact football.
If only there was an Olympic Gold medal in this format of Aussie rules, then Fraser would surely be in contention.

Exactly! What rock were these guys under during the All Stars v Vic game? Remember Bomber Thompsons no.1 criteria for picking players in that team? Ability to win contested footy. Which he did in spades during that game, probably BOG in the 3rd quarter until injured.

Of course leaping into 100kg ruckmen is touch footy. Obviously have no clue about either sport.

He doesn't have the fire, or will to win that the stars of the competition do. He's a talented player that will never reach it because of that reason. He's NOT hugely important to the side, in the way that someone like Rocca is when he's firing. Ruckmen in general don't have a major role in our side. We win games despite our ruckmen, not because of them, and have done so pretty much since Malthouse started. He's not a required player other than due to the fact we don't have anything better.

Dundalis~ True ruckman win premierships, hence we have not won a flag since 1990 when we had a true Ruckman in Monkhorst.
Monkey Ruled the clearances. Francis and Russell would set up the plays.
