The rising star? No team has the rising star as of yet. If you are refering to a rising star nom im pretty sure Houli got one in round 1.

I believe Reimers is due for a nom! Didnt catch Garland's game against Brissy but Reimers has been solid for a good month or so now!!!
no worries Carmi - aren't we are pedantic - I meant the nomination! I do think that Riemers is more than due for a nomination!

Surely eligable Jetta must've been close this week. Didn't catch much of the Melbourne game but Bradshaw kicked 4 on Garland, he might've still gone alright, but Jetta pretty stiff this week.
I stopped caring about the RS noms a few weeks ago - sure its nice for some of our blokes to get a bit of recognition but in the end its not what they do now that counts; what they do in the next few years that is what matters
True - but it is nice to be recognised.

How could I forget? Sensational game!!!:thumbsu:
Actually meant recently - I think we have the talent to get a number of nominations this year!:)
cant beleive you actually care about the rising star.

Reimers will get one soon don't stress.
Big call but Reimers would almost be comng second in the rising star award. Consistancy rules and he has been good all year, clearly Palmer is the clear leader, but Reimers has been solid all year. Everytime he plays a really good game, some one else plays a better game. look at two weeks ago, Reimers kicked a couple of goals from I think 15 possies, Jarryd Morton piucked up 33,
i agree that we should have recieved one this week (Jetta), Garland did have four kicked on him, but Bradshaw could of had 7-8 goals if not for garland. oh well. It'll come.
just wait boys.

Garland has been very good for a while. Bradshaw kicked late goals. Garland beat him for most of the day.
Reimers, Jetta, Lonergan, Neagle should all get nominations.
Maybe Myers, Pears, Gumby(pease) as well if they come back in.

Heh, that gave me a good laugh. Essendon getting 4+ RS nominations in the second half of the season? Oh yeah, I can definitely see it happening. :p

Hi,
First time poster - long time reader.
I was wondering if anybody knows if Bashar has been offered a new contract? Surley we would be looking at re-signing him. I know most of the other young guns have been given another contract but I haven't heard anything about Bashar?
Can someone please confirm?

Basha won't be going anywhere so please do not be concerned about it.
I know for a FACT that he loves it at Essendon and he is a very loyal person. I was chatting with his cousin last week and he was telling me how happy he is at the Dons and how much he is enjoying his footy at the moment (besides his latest injury setback). :thumbsu:

So why not sign him up now?
I am worried because he is a gun!

There's still quite a few players not signed up. He'll be signed.

Clubs have processes and priorities.
If it were a priority he would have been signed already.
Do we even know when he is out of contract?
As i said earlier he loves Essendon and will not leave.
His cousin was even joking around saying how Basha has been a total square his whole life and has never put a foot wrong. Apparantly his whole life has been about his family, religion and footy and he has never been one to go out clubbing or anything like that. I also heard some funny stories about how Basha used to kick 15-20 goals per game from the Midfield/forward back in his younger day's. His cousin reckons he is still nervous when he plays for the Bombers but said that once he gets over that he will turn into one of the best kicks in the competition. Apparantly nerves are part of the reason why he handballs so much.

He does - because he is a beautiful kick. He has a footy brain and sets up the play - always stays cool like Ryder.
And for the OP - as many have said - who cares.
Ours kids are crap aren't they?
Let their footy do the talking - we will be fine with or without the noms.

I cant help but.....LOL at this post. 7 nominations in the last 7-8 rounds? Amusing. At best we will get two as they certainly won't be wanting to give too many to a particular team.
Personally I like our kids getting the recognition they deserve. Reimers is a certainty to get a nomination soon.

I wouldn't be surprised if we get 4. And I said should not will. ;)

He didn't actually say but i assumed he was talking about his junior club footy from say under 9-14's. I played with a guy who used to kick 10+ every game back then and often kicked 15+ and he never made it past Collingwoods rookie list so i don't doubt that Basha would have been doing this in his younger years. :):thumbsu:
