anyone know much about the new book about the Royboys coming out soon?
The book is called Fitzroy:For the Love of the Jumper. It is a hard cover book that is over 350 pages long and retails for $55. It features in depth profiles of 100 of the greatest Fitzroy players. The launch is at 7.00pm on Wednesday 25 September at Haskins Hotel 296 Rae Street North Fitzroy. Bernie Quinlan is possibly doing the launching. I understand that all are welcome. The book has been mentioned on Tim Lane's interview with Haydn Bunton junior on ABC radio and in 'Punchlines' in the Sunday Herald Sun on 1 September. Bill Atherton from FFC is very supportive of the book, which is written by Fitzroy Football Club historian Chris Donald.

I saw an early draft of this book last Christmas & was most impressed. It is possibly the best book on Fitzroy I've seen.
Chris has spent 10 years researching the book, including interviews with loads of past players. There are things in there that you would never find out from any other source.
Chris deserves enormous credit for his efforts.
I'll definitely be at the launch.

I would love to get a copy, but I don't know the likliehood of getting one up here.
I am happy to shoot some $$$ to someone to secure one for me on the night if anyone is interested in helping me out.

www.melsportsbooks.com.au When I was in Melb a couple fo weeks ago I saw a picture of the cover in forthcoming books. I am thinking of getting it sent to me as well.
