A real shootout, Dons by 3 in a classic.
EDIT: Bugger, Merv bumped it for me.

I'm excited about tonight. Disappointed that Myers and Houli aren't playing.....
If we are to have any chance tonight, Hille needs another big game in the ruck. He's our barometer.
Can't wait.

This is what I wrote on the Brisbane board:
Welsh - Black
Possibly Reimers to play a game in the middle, maybe on Power or Adcock with Slattery back in defence.
Fletch - Brown
Ryder - Bradshaw
You'll get your 8-10 goals from those two.
NLM - Brennan
An interesting one. Not the most accountable players in the world. Both should be a bit loose, and both should play well.
Merrett - Lucas
Patfull - Lloyd
Lucas will be playing deeper, and as he is a little restricted at the moment, looks to be a good match-up for Merrett. Patfull can provide a bit of run off Lloyd, and try to make him accountable.
Lucas to kick 1-2, Lloyd 4, with a couple on the break.
??? - Clark
??? - Neagle
Both should be playing in the forward line, as there is the opportunity to stretch both back-lines. We especially will be struggling to match-up on Clark as well.
If Clark plays forward, look for both to kick 4+, or NLM to Clark, and Brennan to kick 4.
Slattery, Rama - Johnstone/Corrie, Hooper
Johnstone is the most worrying of your small forwards (when he plays there), so I'd like to see Slattery on him. When Johnstone's in the middle, Slats to Hooper and Rama to Corrie.
McGrath - McPhee
The only one of your taller defenders who seems to have the engine to go with McPhee. Alternatively, McGrath to Neagle and Drummond to McPhee.
Look for McPhee to kick 3-4, and set up several more.
Drummond - Monfries
Your most attacking defender, so Gus will take him. Monfries to kick 2 and set up a few more.
I'm not sure about your taggers, but Stanton would be the first to be tagged, then McVeigh. Watson to play head-to-head against someone of Rischitelli's ilk.
Should be a ripper of a game, very high-scoring, and my red-and-black tinted glasses say Essendon by 3 in an absolute thriller.

Should be a very good game. Hopefully Essendon can win it's fourth but I have my doubts.
Also, cool preview Sean. ;)

Does anyone know of any late withdrawals for either team. Or perhaps even an educated guess?

Apparently Lovett had some problems at training and Paddy spent all of training in the weights room.

Maybe he is trying to put on some muscle so as he is better prepared to play on Browny.

I hope that you are wrong. Although we always struggle to contain Brown and Bradshaw. Let's hope Fletch and Paddy are on top of their games and that other players are willing to drop back into the space in front of B1 and B2.

Remember my idiot mate who reckons Lovett-murray has been our best player this season? He's back. He reckons tonight we should leave Brown completly open and have no one play on him.
Man he's a genious.

Did anybody forget how great McVeigh is? A brilliant effort from the senior guys tonight
I don't want to use Weevil's fat lady, but it's looking good. Don't want to jinx us though.

lol, great game Andrew!
Oh! We won!
Who was Slatts on tonight? Black?
To anyone who bagged Stants this year and said he didn't deserve the '5'. 32 possies,9 tackles and 3 goals...:)

Stanton has been sensational lately. Loving the tackling numbers this year especially + his kicking has improved out of sight.

it was a Hird-like performance for sure. (not like Hird at his best, but hey Stanton's only human) Great to see our midfield standing up as a group.
loved Lloyds dribble goal
and it was on the right foot ....... pretty good for a left footer:thumbsu::D

Great win, once again we let Brisbane get back into the game but were good enough to run over the top of them.
