View Full Version : Pie Players... Becoming the biggest divers in the game.. Whats the biggest dive this season?
Hot on the heels of Wakelin we have the one of the most blatant stagers of all time in the Medhurst dive.
I thought MM said he wouldnt play divers?

Henry Playfair still holds the record for biggest and worst dive of the season to date. :thumbsu:

No way, Medhurst just took over the nomination.

Still bitter over being our b!tch aren't you.
Burton anyone? Outdid Medhurst by far. Almost completed 1 1/2 somersaults with 2 1/2 twist.

Still sour about last week?
Please keep threads about the games that are currently being played to the Gameday board so as not to create spoilers.
That is what the board is for.

Did the umpire look down at Medhurst, laugh at him and tell him to stop being an idiot like the ump did to Playfair?

There was contact with the Medhurst incident. Get your hand off it.
Did anyone see Marc Murphy's yesterday in the 4th quarter? Takes the cake.

Medhurst may be a serial offender, and its hurting him, umps know it and won't give him the free. But the best for the year by a mile is Bret Thornton in a marking contest with Troy Simmonds. Parko was calling the game and gave him one mother of a spray!

Actually, Dale Thomas' effort in the most recent Carlton/Collingwood clash was clearly in a class of its own. It looked like he was diving into a swimming pool.

Burton put him to shame today. Twice. Not a great look from anyone though I suppose, and lets face it, all sides have blokes that do it.

You're right...what an idiot Wakelin was for diving out of the way when he saw a punch from Barry Hall coming. He should have just wore it on the chin like Staker

Paul Chapman did two beauties in the first quarter today. It's a wonder he didn't get a couple of kicks really, the way the umpiring was going.

Easiest the biggest dive this season goes to Brett Burton against Nick Maxwell in the 2nd quarter, Maxy hardly touched him and he dove like an Olympic class spring boarder.
Saying that, sorry to see him badly injured, actually like the way the bloke plays.

Nah Marc Murphys pathetic display on Friday night is the worst ever. Cost Cartlon the game and a top 8 finish for the year. :p

Totally agree. I like him as a player, but after seeing those it is obvious that he feels a tackle and then propels himself forward in an attempt to get the kick. Luckily the umps didn't fall for it.

Hang on. I thought it was Fev's undisciplined act in the 2nd quarter that cost us the match, according to many posters. You could also throw in Jarrad Waite's poor kick to Jordan Russell in the last quarter, when the difference was 7 points. That, more than anything cost us the game.
I can understand your indifference towards Murphy though, because it will probably end up being his domination of the Round 12 clash that will end up costing the Magpies a spot in the top 4.

That was pretty funny actually.

What??? Since when does Murphy wear no.5.

I wil have to agree unfortunatley. How he dominated that game while being surrounded by hacks I will never know. Guess it just comes down to luck.
Cost us top 4 maybe but not top 8 :p
Naah ... apparently Medhurst isn't a diver at all.
I suggested he took a dive last week but was reliably informed by many Pies supporters that he doesn't dive.
That sure showed me.

I actually laughed at Medhurst, he tried it a couple of times and thank god the umpire didn't get sucked in.
He just took posession of the ball, got tackled, but the ball popped out, the tackler instantly let go (Symes I think from memory) and then out of nowhere Medhurst throws his arms up in the air and falls back with a little jump as though someone pulled him, yet no one was touching him. Looked extremely bad, a bit like the (Straughnie sp?) from last year's Legends match.
Oh and people comparing it to Burton. When did Burton take a dive? I remember Maxwell pushing and grabbing on to him a number of times, but never remember him taking a dive.

LMAO.
My vote goes to Jeff Farmer, seeing as he now can't get a kick and all that.
