Hi all,
After what seems an eternity I am on line again.
And what a surprise! We are in the finals!
That is one fantastic achievement for both coach and team.
And it's against our old finals enemy who have had the "wood" on us for years.....have we ever beaten the bombers in a final? Certainly not in Melbourne, and our performance at Colonial has been pretty ordinary so far this year (St Kilda game springs to mind). It all looks pretty daunting, but who knows, if the team plays as well as it can, then the bombers are beatable.
I am having the game taped in Oz and then shipped to me here.
Go Eagles!!!
any footy coverage at all over there?

Hope your having a great time in Europe Methuselah! Do they have those funny keyboards where it takes you about 30 minutes to find the right key (they had one like that when I went to France)
Good news is that we've made the finals and are in with a chance. Will you be back to see us play in the Grand Final?

Wie geht's?
You're missing a cracker of a time here. We're in the finals, Wilson took mark of the round, Gardy and Cuz are on fire, McDougall is in the side and another three sabre_ac predictions (at last count) haven't eventuated.

In reponse to the questions,
I am here for a year, at least, and have already been here for 5 weeks during which time I have had no internet access, and the only footy covered here is soccer.
I have been watching the tv news, but so far there has been no mention of Australia....let alone the footy. What is it Bill Bryson said in one of his novels...he was convinced Australia only existed while you were in it, as soon as you left, it disappeared. I think I know what he means now.
So sadly, I will not be back in time for any finals footy and will miss most of next years games as well.
However, I am negotiating with some relatives in Perth to see if I can get each weeks game taped and mailed to me from now on, including all the finals series and next years games.
I was surprised to see we lost 4 on the trot, including 2 at Subi, but what a way to respond in the last game of the season and the reward is a final.
In a way I'm sort of glad we play Essendon....I think we owe them a couple of beltings.
You considered getting a fast internet connection in Germany (shouldn't cost that much) and then paying for a membership on the AFL website to get the streaming videos of games? I know it ain't that popular but you might want to private message "Satay Mat", another Aussie expat who lives in KL and ask him about the service cause thats what he uses.
