It will be great to see the emotion on field this Friday as in Melbourne Collingwood are really talking up the Cornes salute as inspiration for there side.
I think it is really pathetic this is the only motivation factor they can find for such a big clash.
I am very confident we will win comfortably but if we did lose would we see 18 Collingwood players after the siren running around like primary school kids with the middle finger up in the air?
Maybe this is the start of the battle of the bird cup?
I can just imagine 40 000 Port fans giving the bird after the match, maybe this will become our little salute against Collingwood, like West Coast fans wave the jacket around like a windmill when they play Essendon.
After the game please feel free to join in on the Cornes salute!

Umm Port Power, the jacket salute was started by Sheedy a while ago, and the WC fans use it ironically to remind the Bombers of what they felt was a somewhat innapropriate and overweening gesture.
The correct parallel in this instance would be the Collingwood cheer squad "Cornesing" Cornes after we defeat you.

I think its hilarious how Collingwood supporters keep saying theyw anna beat up Cornes for what he did....like their players have never done anything similar to that before.
As for the Cheer Squad 'Cornesing' him after the game...pffttt...the Collingwood cheersquad is by far the most abusive one going around - you 'Cornes' the players and the umpires every 30 seconds anyway.

I got a Collingwood supporter on msn at the moment using the nickname "Kane Cornes is a dead man".
My opinion on this is, if there is childish behaviour to be done leave it to the experts, i.e. the Collingwood cheer squad.
Not that they'll have any reason to make any kind of gesture after the game. If anyone wants to really **** off the Collingwood supporters just continue singing the song as you walk to the Alberton bus. And make sure that you pass close to the Collingwood buses. But not too close, we don't want to give them the excuse to start a fight, the Collingwood response to a loss.

Port supporters I know always like to say how they have the wood on us. So they should. The amount of times we have played over there. When was the last time we played Port in Melbourne?
