This is really great news for us. Steven King is our best player and one of the best players in the competition and I'm glad he's decided to commit his future to the Geelong Football Club. :):)

Great news to see him sign... and what a relief!! A player of King's ability don't come easily so to keep him at the club for another two years is a great relief!! And as SeinDude said, it's great that he has said he'll commit his future to the mighty GFC!!
Go Cats!!:)

I'd like to see King as captain. To be honest, Graham has a a year that is not up to his normal standards, and maybe giving the captency away from him may let him to focus on his footy more than being captain!! We must remember though, Graham has done a great job as captain over the past few years, just this year his form did drop and the pressure go to him.
Good luck to Kingy if he is to be captain!!:)

Just had a thought.....
If Kingy was to be captain, would Benny go to a Vice Captain, or be have no roll at all. So that opens the door... who would be the next Vice Captain??
Your thoughts....

Lots of youth there! That seems to be a good idea to give the youth some important rolls in the club. Mature them from a young age. I hope that this won't put any extra stress on them and effect their play. But anyway... it's a really good idea to go youth/ younger players!!

Steven King is the heart and soul of the club, no doubt about it.
Making him the captain would certainly be a step in the right direction.
Now, if we could only find a club gullible enough to offer us something of value in exchange for Ronnie Burns... :D
Cheers,
William

I reckon he should be signed up as captain for next season around about now. The good thing about signing up King as a captain as early as possible is that he can be a career captain. If he was to only captain two season, then in my mind it's pointless, but he can be a stable roll model for 8/10 years. "Sticks" from Carlton is a perfect example.
Worth a thought....
